New to the Viper forums, looking to knock on this guys door and give him a offer for this 8 year yard ridden gen 2

It's really weird, but I almost don't want the prices of the cars to get stupid expensive. I know that sounds bizarre as everyone would prefer for their car to go up in value instead of down, but one of the only reasons I actually have a Viper is because it was the "affordable exotic". I love...

    Clutch Bracket

I caved and ordered one already as well, though I still don't have my car back from the shop yet, lol. It was tentatively scheduled to be done last Friday, but that's already come and gone. Still hoping I might get the call today, but will have to see. I'd rather be patient and have it done...

Conti ExtremeContact Sport 2 vs Michelin PS 4S

What size are you running on the rear? I'm probably going to be in the market for a new set for my 04 before too long. I've always run the Pilot Supersports before, but it seems like they are now discontinued. I was looking around to see what else is out there and looking for the Contis in...

New to the Viper forums, looking to knock on this guys door and give him a offer for this 8 year yard ridden gen 2

There's something to be said about being creative and curious when it comes to parts as well. I had some weird stuff happening with my fog lights that was coming from my turn stalk where it was basically shorting contacts in a way that they weren't supposed to be able to do. Something like the...

    Clutch Bracket

I was driving my dad's Scat Pack Challenger the other day and trying to wrap my head around the clutch. It's interesting because to me it's both light and heavy at the same time. I think it's more that it was very very smooth to press, but heavy. So it wasn't "stiff" in the sense of having a...

    Clutch Bracket

This is really intriguing! I've never liked how long the pedal travel on my 04 seemed to be, but never thought about trying to change it. Seems like a pretty neat idea and even better that it's not a permanent mod. Curious how much heavier the pedal feels with it (I know by the math it's...

Amsoil 75w90 good for late model Gen2 transmissions?

I might have to go this route the next time around on my 04. So far I've managed to find Syntorq here and there when I needed to do fluid changes, but that's getting harder and harder since it has stopped production. I emailed Tremec directly and asked for their recommendation since the...

Aftermarket Stereo Head Unit integrated into the '08 stock system

I believe the small extra connector is actually for add-on components like a Sirius radio or a CD changer. The amp takes the speaker level outputs outputs of the stock head unit and some kind of power trigger line. Some aftermarket radios have a separate power antenna and amp output, while...

    MAF sensor connector

I wish they didn't make it so hard to find out which series different connectors were. So often they want to sell you a pigtail to fix something, but that just means you're butt splicing wires somewhere, which is another failure point. While some do require some more unique tooling, generally...

    MAF sensor connector

They are also pretty similar to the GT150 series Metripak connectors, though those are a little more rounded on the inside. The Apex series stuff is more like the rectangle with rounded corners, while the GT150 stuff is more like a slot shape. I believe the oil pressure sender, A/C clutch...

    Announcing the Viper Parts Initiative!

Awesome to see this get off the ground! Best of luck to you in the future endeavor and I hope the club can do whatever possible to support it to keep these cars on the road!

    MAF sensor connector

The different numbers on connector drawings typically refer to either different colors, keyings, or materials. A lot of times those go hand in hand (like a nylon one might be green, but an ABS one might be black, etc.). Keying is typically the most important. Some keys are actually...

    MAF sensor connector

I'm thinking that's this guy: https://www.waytekwire.com/brands/aptiv-formerly-delphi/catalog/connectors/aptiv-apex-sealed-terminal-connectors/aptiv-54200409-apex-2-8-sealed-4-way Aptive Apex 2.8 series. Same series they used on the crank and cam sensors for my 5.7 Hemi I believe.

    MAF sensor connector

Have a picture by any chance? I got decent at identifying connectors when I had to find all the ones to build the harness for my 5.7 in my 67 Dart. Sometimes they are manufacturer specific, but since this is just going to a sensor I would hope it wouldn't be that oddball.

    Shopping for a 3rd generation

I'd keep an eye on the power steering and oil cooler lines as those are known issues for this generation as well. Both has easy enough fixes, but better to catch them early than late.

2006 Coupe Proper Underhood Ground Point for Jump Start?

Ditto on the pump housing. That's usually where I hook up my tender as it's harder to hook up at the back of the car when parked in my garage, and I'm more likely to remember to unplug it when I see the hood is partially open, lol.

    Hard Start Gen 3

Have you tried different batteries as well? I've had a couple issues in the past where I'd drop low enough on the voltage when cranking that it would reset my trip meter, but I think I also may have had an ASD fuse that was on the way out. Even when it dropped that low though I don't recall...

    Rear toe change per turn?

Oh, you mean how much the toe changes with one rotation of the link? Sorry, I was thinking of the toe change as the wheel cycled up and down. That wouldn't be in the manual. You can kind of calculate it, but I'm trying to recall what it was when I did my last alignment. I think the threading...

My Viper continues to hate me

I think the recommendation for rake is 3/4" higher in the rear, at least as far as track and suspension setup goes. Maybe not as important on the street, but that's the number that comes to mind for me at least from what I've heard in the past.

    Rear toe change per turn?

I believe that should be in the service manual, but maybe they only have it for the front. What generation are you looking for?

    RB1 Head unit navigation antenna?

I got one with my radio and just stuck it under the dash above the center console vents. Seems to work okay there. I don't think it's strictly necessary, especially if you don't even plan to use the software. The harder part nowadays is finding a good disc that the radio will even read. The...

    Removing Mopar power Control Unit

There should still be a little tab you have to press once you unlock it for it to release from the connector. I believe on your pictures it would be just to the left of the red locking parts. Try pressing in on the black portion just to the left of that once they are unlocked and wiggle them a...

My Viper continues to hate me

My 04 is probably somewhere between 0.25-0.5" lower than stock if I remember correctly and I haven't really had much for issues. Still have to be careful, but it's also pretty flat where I live.
