    Oil Pan Mystery

I've used Kevin's setup at EED and its a great alternative to a dry sump system.

    Oil Pan Mystery

I’ve used these many times. It’s just critical not to run low on oil as you do only have what is in the oil pan and these pumps are typically used with a dry sump system.

    Oil Pan Mystery

I've only been aware of the early and late Gen 2 oil pan. The later started with the ACR and carried on from there. I think there was only one dipstick and tube for each, so most likely your pan pan is not unique, but who knows. One thing you have to be very aware of with that external oil...

What really limits rev capability on these cars?

I had quite a few track motors back in the day that could run 7 to 8 k. It’s just the right combination of parts. For the street I always found a broad torque curve with big power in the stock rpm range with great driveability was most desirable. I must admit, a short stroke, bad ass, solid...

Why did ACRs never have special engines?

Besides the smooth tubes and filters, the ACR had a unique oil cooler feed and was the first engine to use the higher capacity oil pan.

Low mileage cars and 'fixing' issue

I agree on all the above. I do want to mention one thing. The rear hatch glass does tend to detach from the metal mount that attaches it to the rear glass and the struts attach to. Having aftermarket rear struts that allow the rear glass to pop open nicely when you turn the key because of the...

    1994 bypassing security system.

You can disarm the theft alarm module by giving it a ground signal from the remote entry receiver when the system is powered up, key on. Once running. Simply disconnect the alarm module and the alarm system will be permanently defeated.

Which gearing is the best all around…3:55 or 3:73 (1997 GTS)

I've found when changing gears its sometimes good to change to a gear drive (Tru-Trac) limited slip unit in the Gen 1-2's. More so if you drag race and run slicks. The factory clutch LSD tends to break the spider gears and the clutches needs tuning. The second weak point is the half shafts. Once...

New 1998 RT/10 Owner in Naples, FL — Need a Good Mechanic

Dick, it really depends on where you live. Yes bumper to bumper Viper shops are far and few, but what I am saying there is a network out here that is willing to help you and work with you remotely. Gosh, I cant tell you how many times I have been able to be put things in perspective for a good...

New 1998 RT/10 Owner in Naples, FL — Need a Good Mechanic

I agree with Dan, I sent out my transmission and differential rebuilds as I had two shops that specialized in that, did them everyday, had the parts, turned them around, had a warranty and allowed me a decent profit and fair price the client. As far as there are no "bumper to bumper" Viper...

Help me with my custom fuel system

I developed several fuel systems back in the day for the Gen 2-3 Track cars, there are several things to consider, the surge tank is critical, return systems heat the fuel so where you put the regulator and how you return the fuel is critical. Also, how you route the fuel to the rails and return...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Gosh this is very interesting. There are a few of the old timers at Viper that got into the top speed stuff. You might want to tap into that. Looks like you have the hp and powertrain to make it work right. That gearbox is the best. A paddle shift would be nice, but not needed. I did a lot of...

Ok I have the pad you pictured. I can box and ship now. Are you sure you still want it? Seems like you found a solution.

Does anyone know where I can buy the center council support wedge?

No just one. Same as the one you had pictures of. My guy might have more laying around. Fit this one and see. To be honest, I'm semi retired and don't need the money anymore, but just like to help out.
