    Brake problems

I installed A Gen 2 power booster on my '94 several years ago. The difference was dramatic. Definitly better feel and modulation. Chuck G

Are there any brake pads that will eliminate the ton of dust?

Yes. The street pads are R4S. Race pads are R4. I have had the R4S pads on my '94 for years. IMO, stopping power is better than the EBC greens on my ACR. They do cost more than the greens. Search on line for best prices. Chuck G

    High idle problems gen II

I had the same experiences as you, with my '99 ACR. My '96 GTS never had this issue. So........why not install a '96 computer(PCM)? I did(a few years ago). Never had another problem. As a side benefit, I have the ability to check malfunction codes using the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on...

Why Do People Do Stupid Things When I Am In My Viper?

Another thing that pisses me off is the fact that basically no one with an old car seems to understand that just because their car came with 400 horsepower stock, that isn't measured at the rear wheels. Now, obviously there are exceptions, but a lot of people seem to think that horsepower is...

To follow up: what is the LEAST favorite mod you have done to your car?

Tom, As much as I like all of your inputs, and mods(I want the rear calipers), I have to respectfully disagree with you about the Gen 2 booster. My '94 brake pedal was super hard(no movement). Now it feels like my '99 ACR. More pleasure to drive. But, probably no improvement in braking...

    EBC Greens.......Good or Bad

If EBC greens are not the answer - What is the answer to less dust and no squeel? I have had good luck with Porterfield R4-S pads. But more expensive, and not for hard track use. Chuck G

torque numbers for head bolts needed

All production Vipers(including Gen 1)have aluminum alloy blocks and heads. I believe only a couple of "mules" had the iron motors.

Re: Just got my DODGE mag, where\'s my WINTER Viper mag??? Don't feel bad! I am still trying to get my fall issue! I have been calling Viper Magazine for weeks. SRT-10 Steering wheel in Gen 2?

Can the steering wheel in a Gen 2 be replaced with the Gen 3(SRT-10)steering wheel, including the air bag assembly? Has anyone tried this yet? If so, how much $$$$. Thanks. Chuck G

Brake Assist on Gen 1 cars? These brakes suck!

It makes a big difference in the FEEL. That probably means you can modulate the brakes better. To me, it feels the same as a Gen 2. You may be able find a used(take off)Gen 2 booster from one of the tuners/racers. Or, get a new one. Chuck G

    clunk noise revisited. Aggrevating!!

Did you check the ball joints? My ACR would make a popping noise(clunk)when in reverse and applying the brakes. Then, on the first brake application going forward, it would make the same noise. Sounds like something was shifting around. It turned out to be a couple of bad ball joints. Good luck...

Brake Assist on Gen 1 cars? These brakes suck!

To all Gen 1 owners who want their brakes to feel like a Gen 2: Replace your power booster with a Gen 2 booster. I used a '96 GTS booster on my '94. Now, it feels the same as my '99 ACR. Try it. You will like it. Chuck G Oro Valley, AZ.

    1994 RT/10 Lights

On Gen 1 cars, locate the fuse box(under dash, passenger side). Disconnect power(in engine bay). Relocate red/blue stripe wire at #2 fuse, to the #10 fuse location. Reconnect power. Should be able switch on fog lights anytime(with ignition switch on). Did my '94 years ago. Chuck G
