Sold my 1997 Dodge Viper GTS and here are some items I no items need. All parts were pulled from my car in good working condition (unless noted)
1997 Service Manual and Powertrain Diagnostics Procedures
Stock Brembo Brake Pads (Front and Back)
Stock Catalytic Convertors
Stock Shifter Knob...
Still not sure what problem is but one thing I know I have going on is a corroded connector where the battery is located on my 1997 GTS. Looking in the parts PDF, I see the picture of the part but it is simply called "wiring body". Before I start doing massive searches, anyone know what PN#...
I've been using Mobil 1 oil and filter on my 97. Usually catch it on sale at one of the cheapy parts shops. I'd have to look but pretty sure 97's are 7.5 quarts unless you have a different pan.
There was absolutely nothing there, no imperfections or anything, I was actually showing to friend and he looked at me and started laughing. He was attempting to hold me ransom for being an idiot so I decided to pre-empt and post the truth out here. Was sorta strange as the driver side cleaned...
Ignore, I am a dumb@ss. Really, I am. I was just using a simple spray parts cleaner, driver side cleaned up really well, for some reason, passenger side left what looks like cracks was really just smudges. Just smudges. I had been working on the car for a couple hours and got to the point of...
So, dealing with oil leak from what I think is the time chain cover gasket, I notice these cracks on the passenger side of the heads? Driver side doesn’t appear to have them.
Someone lie to me and tell me they are cosmetic.
Yeah, everything I read indicates that. Looks like it is also the timing chain cover gasket is leaking as well, pulling it I suppose. I should have just left the oil hiding under the intake manifold....
I'm having some oil under the intake manifold in the valley and it looks like it is coming from the PCV hose/grommet. Can I replace the PCV Hose / Grommet without pulling off the Intake Manifold? Quick look makes me think the thermostat housing is in the way.
Awesome and well thought out post Chuck. Like yourself and others, I have been watching from the sidelines thinking about what to do and where to go. I remember when I joined VCA, it was all part of that “I made it moment” when I bought the Viper way back when. So while I haven’t been as...
Late to the game as usual, Steve Mathias, live in Charlotte and have a 97 GTS that I bought in 2000ish. Not as active in the club as I once was with family, work, blah, blah, blah... I do have a 4 post lift in a detached garage for folks in the Charlotte area...
Not sure if these guys go that far but I have been happy with my eagle.http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/664954-Looking-for-a-lift-take-a-look-at-Eagle-Equipment?highlight=lift+eagle
I picked up an Eagle Equipment 4-post Lift back in early 2011 and couldn't be happier with it. The lift itself hasn't had any problems but I did have problems with the sliding bridge jack leaked fluid at the pump. They replaced the pump and all was well for over a year. Well this past week, I...
As mentioned they are this carbon-fiber looking stuff, I liked it as it breaks up the big hood. I will have to get some good pics, this the day it got delivered, it was absolutly pouring out. I'll try and get a picture of both of them out once I get them washed and it is sunny out.
On a...
