Today's Sunday Washington Post had a little article about the Viper.
In the automotive section of the paper.
Seemed to be an honest look at the Viper.
You can see it on their site.
Well, I've been looking at those nice new tops that Jeff is making and I just ordered one for my black 94.
I really like the way they look in the pictures. I never liked the way my car looked with the stock hard top or rag top.
I did get the one piece version, as I plan to leave it on the car...
There was this guy posting as bst056981.
He want's some rear end gears. I tell him I have an old set of 3.07 gears that he can have for nothing.
I ship them and he never pays me back for the shipping.
$18
Big deal.
But still he got them for nothing and it's been a month and I'm still waiting...
My buddy just bought a used 2005 Ford pickup.
The dealer showed him a CarFax but for some reason wouldn't give him a copy to keep.
We don't suspect anything is wrong but my buddy would like to get a hard copy of the CarFax for his records.
Can someone run this and somehow give me a hard copy...
Lets say that your Viper is running above the thermostat temp.
Lets say that 200F is common for your car when in traffic on an 80F day.
Now, the weather changes and you are in the same traffic on a 100F day.
Does your car just run 20F hotter?
I believe that I remember something about the heat...
Why would drive line loss be a percentage of the total power being transmitted through it?
Seems like the loss might go up a little when higher torque is going through it but I don't see how a constant percentage is going to give the right answer.
Calculating the flywheel hp by using a...
I think he bought a Viper didn't he? Or did he just get a job and was going to buy one soon?
I might just have missed his posts but it seems like he's gone.
Is there some way to wrap the long lines of text on some of these postings?
It seem's as if some guys text just strings out forever and I need to scroll way over to read it. Other guys text doesn't do that.
I need the weather strip piece for the drivers door opening. This is the one that clips to the door opening from down near the footwell, across the bottom of the door opening and up to the "roll bar" area.
My parts catalog (92-96 Viper June 99)book shows this as, Seal, Door Opening Primary 4709...
If he owes you "around $30k", then you got a fair deal. The car would sell for more than $30k right now. You shouldn't have any trouble getting your money back if you can find someone who is in the market for one. I don't know if you could turn it over real fast for a whole lot more than $35k or so.
Some day when there is time for extra things on the board. It would be very useful to have a place on the board for "parts substitution". I've seen more than a few posts where people say this or that part from a Durango or a Mini Van is the same as a Viper part. A place for those posts would be...
I don't see any easy way to see at a glance who last posted to a thread. I see that I can go to the "expand" mode but with the old board I could see at a glance if anyone posted after me.
Someone is selling one of those lightweight cockpit covers on ebay. I bring this up because it seems like there were some folks looking for one of these, out of production, items. Right now it's going for $46.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6766&item=1876573228&rd=1
If you were getting 400 RWHP to the ground you might do a 1/4 mile in 12.6 seconds. Note, these are just ballpark figures but they are probably about right. If you were able to pick up 40 extra horsepower and get it to the ground, you would probably see about .3 second improvement in your time...
I confess, I put about 3k miles on my Viper since I bought it without ever looking at the air filter elements. I finally got around to buying some S&B filters from Roe. I had no idea how long the old filters had been there so I figured it would be a good idea to change them. Well, it was more...
I've had my Competition- ECSTA V700 tires on the car for about 100 miles. They are sticky and they do pick up small stones. I was told that they would do that and it it isn't a problem for me. They have much more traction than my old, hard, Pilots. The biggest improvement is that my car is no...
Ever since I've had my Viper, the turn signal refuses to auto cancel. It's not a big deal and one of these days I'll get in there and see what's wrong. It got me to thinking though, Every car seems to have a mechanical turn signal mechanism to cancel the blinker. Why not have a smart turn signal...
