WTB Gen2 GTS - Need advice for a potential California Viper owner

Paul is correct, just make sure it's stock and smog compliant, as would be the case with any Viper you find in CA. Here's an old thread that makes it appear that '98 and later are 50 state compliant, regardless of mileage. http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/532195-49-50-State-Legal-GTS

    Matte finishes

Matte finish can present a real challenge. As mentioned a good glass cleaner can work just fine. Challenge is any real rubbing of the matte finish can start to turn matte finish to a sheen finish.

Found something interesting on CL yesterday.

Free2go: Seems you are the only one who does not appreciate the ads, so you know how to fix that, you are Free2go from this thread and not return.. You have disrespected him whether or not you see that. Bonkers: Nice work.

Market Value on my 97 gts with gold package?

My first Viper was a GTS with Gold wheels and emblems. This choice of wheels was an option and obviously chosen by few. At the same time, it is now somewhat rare, but to date has never added value. So proper pricing would be same as a '97 Red GTS, your thought of asking $40K is a great...

New Forum Member looking for Gen II GTS

That is totally awesome, I anticipated it being really nice. I saw my first one in Reno NV when they were holding a Trans Am race around the MGM Grand and Chrysler had one on display as they had just come out. Absolutely became my favorite modern muscle car of all time and that has never...

Reliable has a fleet second to none, their transporters are spotless, and they charge accordingly. That being the case, Inter-City delivered two vipers to me, all went great and I would choose them again. I am not familiar with United Routes.

Badasp007's '96 with 29,000 miles is a very, very fair deal, even after you add shipping. Paul Hawker has been around and his insights are spot on. Buy the '96, nothing as iconic as the '96. I know a guy selling his super clean '97 only because he wants a '96. However, I admit to being bias...

    Looking for '96/'97 emblems

Thanks for the find. My body shop ended taking a red and painting blue, cannot tell from original on other side. I might check this out anyway, they're pretty straight up on their admission that it is not OE.

    2013 Launch Edition Value

Could be, evidently was traded in for a 2015 and came from Southern California. Dealer is asking $80K, said they allowed $75K trade-in.

1998 red gts for sale at vallery ford in ohio

Looks really nice. I understand about being done with the "Chase." Two owners, verified miles, possibly original tires........all is a good sign to not much abuse. Asking price is fair for a dealer, hopefully you get it closer to $35K. Imo, that would be more than fair. Congrats!!!

    96 GTS with 80K for 30K????

I've seen this car advertised and it looks very nice. It has some wear and tear from 80K miles, but he's upfront about it. My $.02. I agree with all that say the car is worth $30K. I think any 96-97 without issues will always be worth that, or close. However, if the miles bother you, be...

    Buying low mile 96/97 GTS

I have a '96 GTS with 3K miles and had a 98 GT2 with 1K miles. Never had a problem with either one. Buy low miles if you have 95% collectability in mind. Low miles should run $38K - $45K.

    Did I pay too much?

Dealer is entitled to make a profit, no, you did not pay too much, but sounds like you think you did. I learned a long time ago, get the best you can and a couple years later you will (should) forget how much you paid, but you will always realize how much you enjoy your experience. Congrats!

1996 B&W GTS seen by Newbie !!!! What do you guys think????

Obviously different opinions, many based on one's own experience. Me, my '96 has 3,000 miles on it, when I fire it up and drive it there are zero problems. Same with my '98 GT2 that had 1,001 miles when I sold it. Zero problems in 8 years of ownership. Before haters say they are made to be...

New member looking to buy a '96 Viper

Buy it, buy it and, again buy it! Then drive it and see what you think of the experience, it is pretty unique. At that point look into mods. If you don't like it you will easily get your money back.
