    Blower belt popped off

I think i've heard 1/4 in for chains before. I'm pretty sure belts need be be tighter than that.

    Blower belt popped off

No kidding. Does anyone know a good place to get a replacement hub?

    Blower belt popped off

Well... it was the crank pully. The hub portion of it broke in half.

    Blower belt popped off

The serpentine belt that runs everything (including my Roe S/C) popped off the other day when I was moving my car in the driveway. I noticed it immediately when my steering lost power. Luckily I wasn't going anywhere. Can someone tell me if this is the kind of thing that can "just happen", or...

Why does everyone hate on the Gen 1?

I have a Gen I, and some pretty unbiased opinions. I like... * open top * side pipes I dislike * no roll up windows * open top (yea, that's a double edged sword) * electronic parts are hard to find (OBD1) * no cupholder * doesn't come in silver I would like a Gen II if i could get it...

    Top Fuel Dragster interesting facts!

About the clutches. Yes, the clutch is made of several plates. By the end of the race they are all one piece. When you get a rear view look at a launching dragster, you can see a horizontal spiral of black smoke/dust out the center of the car. That's the clutch disintegrating.

The windows look interesting. You'll need them too since the shape of the opening changes.

What Mufflers are you using with your SUPERCHARGED Viper?

Do you remember the model number of the XR1s you used? That's apparently the name for the whole line not just one specific type.

    VEC 1 or Vec II

For a naturally asperated engine, the VEC2 might be over-kill. It's a good system, but it's $1000. The VEC1 doesn't give seperate control of fuel and timing, so if you really like to "tweak" your settings you'll want more. Split second has a fuel/timing map system I'd like to check out. It's...

What Mufflers are you using with your SUPERCHARGED Viper?

Did you ever run the Belanger exhaust with just the 2 mufflers? That's what I have now and it a bit too obnoxious. I was considering adding a 2 extras as well and would like to know the relative difference.

    Bucking Viper....Yee Ha

I think the Vec1, Vec2... guy was implying that the AEM solved the problem. The coil pack statement is wrong for sure. I've tested every one of my cylinders while the car was idling and they all get spark.

    VEC2 direct connect write problems

I remember my instructions forgeting about the second box too. Apparently they haven't been updated since. I ended up with one box velcro'd behind the computer and the other box zip tied to the heater hose right behind the passenger side valve cover.

    Anyone using Side Sill Vents?

Just take of your cats and the side sills won't heat up anywawy. Emissions? What are those?

    VEC2 direct connect write problems

No. When you use encryption codes, a new message box pops up and gives a completely different message. I doubt thats the problem, but of course, I don't know for sure.

    VEC2 direct connect write problems

Has anyone else seen this problem....? I'm connecting directly to my VEC2. I can read settings, verify, and view info with no problems. But when I try to write anything besides the exact settings that were read, I get a communication error. The red light will usually blink or remain on, and...

    O2 Sensor wiring question

How did this work out for you? You two lost me with the numbers but I assume you just put your resistor between the two white wires. Right?

Re: 300 Km/h..it\'s a blast but will never do again on open road The autobahn is a track. Now you are just trying to piss people off.

Brakes & Rotors or Gas & Gears going downhill?

It's okay to use your engine to slow you down. But if you need to slow down so quickly that it would require downshifting, then you should use your brakes instead. Of course once you've braked enough where the next lowest gear is in normal operating range, you should downshift into it...

    air fuel gauge info needed

I originally removed my voltage gauge and put it there. Later, I needed to swap it with the leftmost gauge so it was easier to see while driving.

VEC2 log of stock O2 sensors

Yes, you just hook them up to the analog in. I think my VEC2 came with a diagram of the Viper's computer connections. Are you sure yours didn't?

VEC2 log of stock O2 sensors

Thanks Sean. I have a wideband I've yet to hook up, so I guess I know which side it's going into now. :) Casey, no circuit trouble code gets thrown. I think that only happens if the voltage moves too far, or not at all. A rich condition code gets thrown (plus some obvious backfiring)...

What do Vipers, American Automakers, and T-Rex Dinosaurs have in common?

There are a lot of ways for companies to make money besides physical production of goods. American companies can take advantage of low cost labor and still keep the profits in the country. Part of the evolutionary process for a country should involve less factory and manual labor jobs, and...

VEC2 log of stock O2 sensors

Hi everyone. Good to be back on this site after some time away. I'm pretty sure I have a bad O2 sensor. I'm trying to figure out which one based of my VEC2 log. They are definatly different from each other... As you can see, one is fairly flat at idle, and the other is very "jittery"...
