Black - Graphite Stripe ACR Thxs Woodhouse

That might just be the best looking Viper I have seen yet. In fact, it looks so good, it's almost a shame to track it... almost. A big congrats on both the car and your taste! :2tu:

    19" SSRs?

I found this on the SSR website: SSR Type-C RS - 19inch Specs Seems to indicate the that 19x10.5 SSR type C wheels are available, but I'm not sure of the correct off-set. Are we sure there is no 19" SSR for thre Viper?

    19" SSRs?

I just found out that Michelin is no longer making Sport Cups in 345 x 18" size. When my current set wears out, I would like to go back to 19" wheels but really like my SSRs. Do they make a 19" SSR wheel that would work on the rear of a Gen 3?

    My cat died. :(

My cats went bad after only 8200 miles. Replaced under warrantee. This is on a '05 Viper.

Heel Toe Shifting a 2008 Viper

Blip the throttle as you apply brakes and just before you let the clutch out. If you are shedding a lot of speed and down shifting thru multiple gears, repeat the procedure for each downshift to avoid locking up the rear tires or upsetting the suspension. Don't worry about getting an exact rev...

Heel Toe Shifting a 2008 Viper

The peddles on the viper are very close together which can make heel and toe shifting a bit tricky. I have found the best method is to use the side of my foot instead of the ball and heel. I sort of rock my foot side to side so i can work the throttle and brake simultaneously. Takes a bit of...

    Track Question ?

I ran my stock '04 at this event a couple years ago. Factory roll hoops were acceptable on a vert then. I hope they are not changing that ruling as it will eliminate a lot of cars.

400 Miles and this is what I ate

Yeah, i used to think the same thing. Then one day, while playing on a back country road with a guy on a motorcycle, my Viper got sideways when I shifted into 3rd, and I was running "R compound" tires. Didn't seem like I did anything wrong. I had driven the car the same way in the past many...

    Good News, Bad News

Does the car have stock suspension or modded? An improperly set up aftermarket suspension can cause these kinds of issues.

Spend $10k in Mods or Go For '08???

Add to the above recomendation light weight wheels and tires (such as Sport Cups mounted on SSRs which will drop unsprung weight by over 70 lbs) and and it will feel like you picked up yet another 50 rwhp.

Has anyone ever purchased a Viper off E-Bay?

I bought my '04 Viper on ebay from a highly reputable dealer. Won the auction at a price that was well below what I expected would win, contacted the dealer, was assured the car was in showroom condition. Took delivery 4 days later and the car was perfect. Smooth transaction with no regrets. I...

    345 pilot sport cups questions

I have been running the 345s rear and 295s front for some time now. The good news is that combined with lightweight wheels, there is a very noticeable improvement in overall performance. car is much quicker, turn-in is much crisper and breaking is awesome. The bad news is that they can be...

It's funny how quickly Vipers change hands

The Viper is more of an "acquired taste" than most cars when it comes to driving it. I wasn't crazy about it myself when I first got mine, but then it grew on me. This is why Vipers often get criticized by the car rags. They don't spend enough time behind the wheel to appreciate the car's unique...

So With 600HP In The 2008s, What The Heck Will A Supercharger Produce?

For whatever it's worth, I have also had a good bit of experience drag racing in different cars and set-ups. Taller gears make for an easier and quicker launch, period. Wheel spin is much easier to control and car is way less likely to bog. To get a really good launch in a Viper with stock...

    radiator fan blades

Exact same thing happened to me (also an '04) with only 4000 miles on the car. I was on a roadtrip at the time and managed to do a temporary repair with duct tape. Still vibrated pretty bad, but at least the fan didn't completely disentigrate before I got it home. I had it repaired under...

    '08 Viper PS2s R-compound?

I've seen two articles now saying that the PS2s on the '08 Viper are R-compound. Is this true? Are the PS2s on the '08 different than the PS2s that have been available from tire rack for a while now?

2008 Viper vs. 2008 C6 Z06: October Issue of Car And Driver

I'm not surprised at the '08's 0-60 times or the fact that they are so close to the ZO6's. There are other cars that are quicker 0-60, but they are either rear engine (a big advantage in 0-60 accelleration), all wheel drive, launch control, r-compound tires or some combination of the...

Brace for the magazine bs ...

This article claims the PS2s are a "special compound" taken from the "Pilot Cup" tire. They don't specifically say they're R-compound, but that seems to be what they mean. The Edmond's article aslo said the new tires are R-compound, but I chaulked that up as an error. Does anyone know for sure...

    New 2008 inforomation...0 to 60 in 3.7!!! link!!

Gen 3s with stock gearing already do that. With more power and a higher rev limiter, the '08 will definitely not need 4th in the 1/4 mile.

Need more power on 06 coupe, disappointing drag times

Thanks for the tips, Jon. I do have a light weight flywheel, but haven't installed it yet. I already have the DC reflash. That improved low and mid range throttle response and power, but only added one or two mph on the top end. Not sure if I want to do gears yet or not. I figure if I go that...

Need more power on 06 coupe, disappointing drag times

That sounds like like pretty much the same thing I do, but I don't powershift. Your trans must be much smoother than mine. Powershifts are out of the question for me. I also have the DC reflash, but if I shift near redline into second and third, I am only a few 10s of a second away from the...
