gen V RPM at 70 MPH?

I'm curious why they made the 3rd and 4th gear on our Gen V's so close together in terms of revs. They seem almost redundant.

Who wants to sell me a new Viper? (DEALERS)

Congrats on the TA. I do believe there are many more deals coming unless dealers want to sit on inventory beyond Dec 31.

No money to fund racing but Dodge has money for stupid stuff like this:

??. No clue what you are talking about. But I'm starting to understand why that video appeals to you and not me. Have a great day.

No money to fund racing but Dodge has money for stupid stuff like this:

You're right, Dodge should go back to their roots and market to people with no education, class, or money. That should really help the Viper program survive. Hey Dodge, how's that been working out for you? Viper sales have been awesome, right? We all know the Gen V launch was a bust...

And no class. No one is going to take Dodge or SRT seriously with this crap. Good luck converting the Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, etc crowd over with this stuff.

More Great SRT Insight from Ralph

+1. If they can't sell the car to us, the passionate fans of the car, then they have a serious problem. SRT must have royally pissed off everyone in the media over the last 2 years. It was probably the pompousness from the marketing team and the arrogance of sending broken cars to magazines...

More Great SRT Insight from Ralph

I was shocked when I read the article. It's so sad to see that Ralph, who we all thought was brilliant, saying things that are just crazy. He seriously thinks that cars sitting on lots is a good thing? Does he not get that dealer's floorplan expires and they are stuck with paperweights? Does...

New Gen V for $500 over invoice

Dude, is it that time of month or something?!

New Gen V for $500 over invoice

Perhaps you should listen to your own advice and "get your facts straight before mouthing off". Here are two articles that clearly state that 426 Vipers were sold for the 2013 model year. They've been posted on the forums for a while and you've even replied to them. Your article is a YTD...

New Gen V for $500 over invoice

I said "low 400's" and the published number was 426. I stand by my statement. So your 500 number is the "mythical figure". Also, it doesn't matter if it was 6 months or 12 months. Supply is there and buyers knew about the car since April 2012. So technically, they've had 1.5 years to pony...

New Gen V for $500 over invoice

I don't think the backlash now is against Gen 5 specifically. Rather, it is frustration that the car is not selling (price, marketing, etc). It is also because of the worry that the Viper may not survive for too much longer with sales figures in the low 400's/year.

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

You are missing the point. Read the article (and my posts if you wish). The point is, they are making various references about how Viper is hurting...big time...and how the C7 is booming and this electric, expensive car made by a startup called Tesla is booming. The market is strong, sales...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

True, but historically, Corvette has sold multiples of 12x/year (2003) to 23x/year (2008) compared to Viper. I didn't count 2009 and 2010 because the economy was so screwy. Based on current projections for yearly sales of Corvette and the actual sales of Viper, the ratio is is an astonishing...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

The take home point of the article IMO is that the Viper is not selling well at all and marketing is the main issue. They are saying that for half the price, the C7 is really going to pose a big problem for the Viper (marketing or not). They are also saying that a niche car, like Tesla, is...

Viper production slowed by one third due to sluggish sales

Here is an interesting article from the Detroit Free Press titled "Viper loses its venom as the 2014 Corvette revs" that was just published: http://www.freep.com/article/20131028/BUSINESS0103/310280032/Chrysler-Viper-Chevrolet-Corvette It also states "only 426 have been sold, less than...

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

+1, but I would add one thing. Ralph, please see that your marketing team may not be up to the task. I don't think this will be resolved regardless of your budget. It is a talent and passion issue. SRT marketing should be naturally passionate about SRT and the Viper...not just because they...

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

If SRT Marketing was brilliant, they would have done their market analysis correctly and priced the car differently. If they did that, more people would have bought it. So again, marketing is to blame, not the car.

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

Well Jack, thanks for making it apparent who is the ass here. Please stop posting in the thread I created. SRT has major problems and, despite your random comments about "zero knowledge base", I actually have some pretty deep insight into the problems. The question is not if there is a...

Let's try to help SRT save/sell the GEN V.

I know SRT was given that option too. Decided against that too...for all their lineup! One excuse was "Our buyers aren't looking for better gas mileage so we're only considering supercharging". Brilliant, huh?

Will SRT's Marketing Department Kill the Viper Brand?

If so, then the fact that Gen 5 has sold LESS than 15% of what a Ford GT sold (even thought the GT was priced higher priced last decade) signifies that "SRT, we have a problem".

Let's try to help SRT save/sell the GEN V.

Marketing is based on market research. So if either is flawed, the result is disastrous. In either case, I know SRT did their own market research and was presented third party research. SRT did their own marketing (or lack thereof) and was presented marketing plans from third party vendors...

    Value of 08 coupe?

I think Gen 4 will be looked at as the last and most capable pure Viper. Gen 4 is better than Gen 3 in many ways. In the past, the Viper was the Viper...nothing like it. Gen 5 is a great car, but will be viewed in comparison to the GTR, R8, 911, C7, etc. All will depreciate, but the Viper...
