    Traded the Viper for WHAT?

AbsolutHank - I have had over 130 vehicles since 1956. Don't recall asking anyone for permission. Also, to me vehicles are a work of art and my enjoyment of them can be satisfied by going into the garage with coffee and the morning paper and just look at them. I had many different muscle cars in...

    Traded the Viper for WHAT?

I had the Viper for about three years. It was an 06 convertible with 4,200 on it when I got it. When I traded there way 4,700 miles on it. Much of the reason was since I retired I have been concentrating on covering the 49 state and the Canadian provinces by motorcycle. So the Viper and...

Viper owners did you put your front license plates on your car..if still required?

Re: Viper owners did you put your front license plates on your car..if still required I installed the factory bracket on the front. I loath being stopped and someone controlling me. I did the same on the Corvettes. Put the Viper away tonight. I will pull it out tomorrow and take a picture to...

    Let the beast run

Well as best I could on public roads. Finally got it down off the hoist after 14 months. Took the wife out for dinner and a ride. When we got home she suggested that I sell it as it "scared her."

Just doing a personal query, do Viper owners run the factory PSI in their tires? scan

Re: Just doing a personal query, do Viper owners run the factory PSI in their tires? Original tires on my 06. 99% of the tread. Rubber is very hard but okay at the speed it is driven when it is driven. I just need to get out there and use that thing.

Ever notice that Viper owners also own a Vette as well..

Yes. I had to balance the floor in the garage because of the Viper with three Corvettes. It worked.

    Started or drove

My 06 convertible is up on the hoist were it went last fall. Very dusty now. I have been doing motorcycle tours of the US to try and cover all of the 49 North American continent States. I should be done by next year. I decided that I will then try and do the same thing with the Viper. I don't...

    Not Many Members?????

I sent my VIN a long time ago but I think I always have been listed as enthusiast. Doesn't matter. Everytime this past winter that I looked in the garage, there it was.:) Now if warm dry weather would just show up, I can see if it still runs.:dunno:

    Show us your garage!

I call mine a "working garage" that way I don't have to keep it clean. Holds eight cars and five motorcycles. Here is a partial shot when it was empty to do the annual floor cleaning in the spring. The a couple of full shots.

Lower Front Facia Damage/ Driveway Curbs

Simple solution for me. I put in a Viper/Corvette friendly drive. It did help that the drive was needing replacement. There is no perceptible transition from the street to the drive.

Every time Viper goes to City Cops stop me

I'm a retired Police Chief. During my career I had set some records for highest number of tickets in a day, week and month. But, I sat at 90 degrees to the road almost to the white line in a marked car with the radar gun in my hand stretched out the window on a sunny day. What I was looking...

New PS2 but old DOT ?

Lance Armstrong stored his tires in a cool damp basement in France for years before using them on the team bikes. Aging worked for them. It was supposed to make them more durable. Or was it his wine?

Viper is Canada's 3rd worst selling vehicle for 2010

Canadians like trucks. They are not car people. Yes, in the larger cities they have cars. But that is only a small part of Canada. Between cities they drive trucks and seem to prefer Dodge. So they are fairly smart folks. Eh?

    Barrett Jackson Insurance Collector Car

I have 5 cars with Grundy and have been with them for 5 years. I like their no mileage restrictions even though I only average 1,000 on them. Grundy is one of the biggest if not biggest insurer of collector cars in the country. I am always looking to save money. All five come in at $1,200...

How much is this Viper worth?

Why do owners want to undervalue Vipers? The less that they sell for the less all Vipers are. Ask top dollar and stick to it. There is one pricing fact that most don't know. That is the selling price is more related to the asking price than ANY other factor.

    Speeding ticket poll

In 1966 I had purchased a new Olds Delta Royal police pursuit model. I had enough miles on it to open it up. When the speedometer pegged I backed off back to the speed limit. A few miles later a trooper who had a semi pulled over ran to his squad and took off. When he got to me he put on his...

Do Vipers Attract Tailgaters and Aggressive Drivers?

can any viper drive silky smooth at low revs ??

My 06 convertible gets driven on local roads with a 55 mph speed limit. At 55 it is only about 1,200 rpms but is very smooth. I would like to go to a 3.73 rear end but don't live near any place that works on Vipers here in the middle of the mid western corn fields of Illinois.:dunno:

    Need some advice

I have an 06 with the original battery. It is plugged into a tender from the time that it enters the garage until it goes out again. Your lemon law comment was ridiculous. Not even remotely applicable. Load test the battery. If it fails get a new one. You have spent entirely too much time...

The Viper is a Rather Cheap Shed Built Supercar if You Could Call it That

The Viper came out in 1992. The V10 cast iron truck V10 came out in the 1995 model year. When they came out I scooped one up. It was rated at 300 hp. It was the best 3/4 ton 8 mpg truck that I ever had. 1996 it went to 310 hp.
