Thanks!
It ended up being 10.5 quarts total. I decided using the dipstick was the best route as I do routinely check. It is perfectly at full on stick with 10.5.
All the best!
ok...so I have searched and have read the many threads and debates on how many quarts of oil to put in stock 2008 viper.
Yes...the owners manual says 10 quarts
Yes...yellow addendum card says 11 quarts.
i put in 11...and it shows OVERFILL on dipstick...
so what to follow-
Dipstick?
OR...

Hi all!,
Anyone got stock exhaust laying around? I am looking into getting a pair for a non-viper car I am converting to a resto-mod.
(pretty sure the exhaust is the same for gen 3 and 4)
Thanks!
Ron

Hi all!
Gonna get my windows tinted in my 08 convert. Anyone know if our windows have any stock tint?
I will be moving to Texas and they are pretty strict on 25% tint...I am gonna put on 25% as I dont think we have any stock tint.
Of course, want to avoid a PITA, and if we do have...
Great info! I have read both Wixx is the way to go or Mobil 1.
OK! great on the oil weight!...anyone go to heavier oil when the outside temperature gets super hot....like Phoenix in August? for just street fun...
Ok...so 0w40 is preferred...but what about hot months with spirited driving? does 0w40 still stand up fine in 100 degree weather?
what does your research say STEVE-INDY?
also...what you guys do for oil filters?
thanks,
Ron
Thanks guys!
for street fun...
OK...so summer texas weather of 95-105...would you run 5w-40 for the year...or do you think 0w-40 is fine?
according to the manual 5w-40 is fine for anything over 0 degrees...?
thanks for the advice!
R
Great info! Thanks!
OK...so for nice day driver and street fun...0-40 or 5w-40?
of course, Mobil 1 synthetic....
What about zinc additive?
VIPER 93- Thanks! and Congrats!!!
Hi guys!,
SO built a 70 Chevelle SS to be a brother to my Gen4 Convert. Made it 635 HP on pump gas. Just a rocket of a car...spent more than 75K getting it all done...then running through the chevelle club I am in and see this BEAUTY! OMG! what a car...
Hi all!,
I have gotten a few opinions from rather respectable individuals, but not clear...
For engine oil, what do you guys run?
Of course all SYNTHETIC...
Manual says 0W or 5W
Viper Tech says 10W
Aftermarket says 20W
So since we covered ALL the options...what have you guys...
