Hi guys,
I'm heading down to the USA all the way from Australia in June this year. I'm a MASSIVE Viper fan, and have been for the past 15 years. I've been meaning to go to the USA for the past 5 years but never had the chance, so I've been waiting for this trip for quite a while.
I wanted...

It's not Viper based, sadly. Here's a different picture view:

Apparently they aren't going to do a ZR1 version of the Corvette, at least not within the next 3 or so years.
I think it's the perfect timing to come out with the ACR to put the Viper back into #1.
The TA Viper has had extremely positive reviews based off everything I've read so far.
I agree that SRT can turn this around (I mostly lurk on these forums, but I visit them everyday and know the situation). They should do what they did in 2010 with the ACR Record runs and getting as many track...

CarAndDriver have always been amateurish in their videos (especially that hack mechanic segment).
"Anyone who can afford a 100k car can afford a 300k car" - what an absolute ridiculous statement.
According to Motortrend they couldn't get a hold of the TA Viper, not sure if SRT screwed up bad here or they are bluffing. Either way, to not mention the TA Viper at all something is very fishy.
Seems Motortrend is at it again with the controversy on the Viper:

Not too sure why Motortrend keeps allowing this guy to review the Viper, or why they compared a $300,000 SLS to a $100,000 Viper :\
There are companies which do this. The problem is that in order for it to be registered in Australia the company who does the conversion & compliance has to be located here. Because there are very few they charge high prices making my dream car harder to get :(
Yeah pretty much. It's a shame that my dream car is so difficult to obtain in Australia. Wonder if anyone will do a Gen V conversion, although I'd image that would be harder due to the newer interior.
No worries. I thought Viperformance was the most expensive in Australia at 47k haha.
There is a company that does RHD conversions in New Zealand which charge 35k for the conversion but no compliance, wonder why these guys charge so much for it.
Ahh cool, I'm currently working as a Business Analyst at one of the Big 4 service firms.
The Gen II had a 8L V10 (well 7.998) while the Gen III is 8.3L. Have you found a company which converts and complies a Gen III? After all my research I've only found companies which convert the Gen III &...
Ahh nice, I visited Viperformance nearly 10 years ago now! Here's a few pictures from my trip:

Any chance you can drop by in Melbourne after the conversion? :)
Yeah it's insane how much the cost of RHD over here is :( One of the best RHD conversion places in Australia (Viperformance) is now charging 47k for a conversion :\
I'm actually planning to do the same as you if I ever save up enough for a Viper, good way to get use to the car :) A 2002 GTS FE...
Hi Jay,
I'm also from Australia :) (although don't own a Viper, yet).
What are you planning to do with the car when you import it over here? Would you need to convert it to RHD?
Just came across this in my YouTube subscriptions, interesting video comparing the Gen 5 against the Gen 2 Viper :)
(note: the Gen II is slightly modified)
