Gents
First off - the show car you are referring to was NOT painted by our production team (Prefix), and, yes, the show car has a few, very minor defects. Please forgive the hard-working folks who got it done for the auto show, despite less than perfect paint facilities (again, not at...
Dude
FYI - only the true facts:
The median age of Viper buyers is age 48, and yes, 93% are male.
Viper is 10-15 years younger than the last Corvette C6 buyer was, yes, they were over age 60+ (I'm being youthfully generous to the Corvette, here...). The last time we asked Corvette guys...
Mark - thanks for putting this post out there, starting the discussion, stirring the pot!
We at SRT Engineering are, of course, very interested to know what Viper owners have to say on this (and we can recognize who the owners or intenders are, vs the Pretenders...). We take to heart all of...
Thanks for sharing this Harold.
There are a lot of great cars in our era, and we should all be very proud of the great American cars that are among them. I am really glad to hear that you find the Viper more pure than these "highly refined" European cars (including the 991 I remember you...
Remember Gents
The Gen 5 TA (coming shortly) is only slightly faster around Laguna than the old ACR, by 0.3 seconds. So these cars are pretty close together on a moderate road course.
But if you, like most of us, drive your car on the street, and listen to radio, you might find the new...

All your symptoms sound like a very dead battery. Get with your SRT dealer and they'll get you a new battery, and can work directly with the Electrical Engineers directly at SRT to ensure there is nothing more than this.
Dang! How many of those were on the track, dude?! You're a total rock star!!
Have fun - not everyone gets to drive a big-bore Al block V10 to the office every day ;)
Re: " The new Viper is exotic and curvy, but the glory days are gone at least by sale

I agree with Harold's earlier point: horsepower wasn't the main point behind developing the new Viper. Instead, the new Viper was all about providing a 640 bhp, balanced American Supercar, which...
Congratulations on your new Viper, Harold. Welcome to the SRT family. We appreciate your patience with us getting your new racecar built. ;) Now go have some fun driving America's Supercar!
PS. Thanks for posting the pictures Mark. I seriously missed seeing this car at Conner, but it looks gorgeous! I haven't seen a Stryker aero car, and this one is a GTS with the Laguna interior in Sepia?.... oh, baby...this is the best of the best ;)
Venom V has a good memory ;) The rear spoiler, which makes 300+ lbs of downforce at 150 mph, is bonded with urethane to the rear decklid. Just like all windshields. No mechanical fasteners, no messed up drilling holes thru your carbon decklid...
Most importantly, let us please recognize Memorial Day for what it is, ladies and gents. We are a wonderfully free nation, respected (even if not loved) worldwide, because of the great sacrifices our American soldiers have made for us. Please honor with me their tremendous sacrifices for our...
Ken - great pictures - thanks for sharing them.
Tony - please keep your feedback on the 2013 Viper coming. I know you own a Gen 4 car, and lots of other great cars, so I'm curious to hear how your drive was back to TX (to Inifinity, and beyond!). How does the Viper compare to your other...
Viper Engineering thanks you for the great, and detailed, feedback! You've given us our report card - now we keep working at making it faster and better! ;) Thanks again for the wonderfully detailed feedback, it really helps us know what you like, and what needs 'more loving'.
Enjoy...
Hey supersnake, how could we not love your honest posts? ;) But....like you, I cannot afford a Gen 5 car...like many of us, but I'm also pretty sure Ralph's wisardry with paint colors will sell you (and me!) another sticker price car sometime in Gen 5 (dang it!!)! And I can honestly tell you...
Hey Frank - great to hear from you!
The man who puts down amazing burnouts, and amazing burgers, at our annual Motor City Viper Club Autocross (yes, I'm seriously envious)...
Anyway, I'm with you, SSG was just amazing. Like you (and your wife), some of us are mere humans, and we are...
I don't know about this VIN, but there was a black with gunmetal stripes car built last week (I'm not checking personal VINs, sorry!). And, damn, if this isn't Darth Vader's personal vehicle, I don't what is... it is just an awesome paint job! The stripes are dark enough that they 'disappear'...
Hey supersnake
I didn't see the exact picture you're referencing, but I'm pretty sure I know which car it was. There was one GTS Blue (no stripes) car Conner built for our Public Relations (media vehicle) guys, to send to the car magazines for testing, etc. The car has been shipped off to...
Rats. I was worried it might come to this one day. The day I drive my Gen 4 Viper, that is, and I come home disappointed.
For those of us who spend our lives working on Vipers by day, and occasionally driving our own (older) cars on the weekends, it can be a love/hate thing. You pour your...

Another great Gen 5 debate here...
You could summarize the Gen 5 audio offerings as: Good, Better, and Best. First off, the base system is noticeably better than the system in my Gen 4 Viper. But the 12-speaker, surround sound system (optional in SRT, standard in GTS) is again...
This is Erich Heuschele intentionally drifting a Pilot car in the rain during one of the media events last November at Sonoma. Everything was turned off, which is not what I'd recommend doing in the rain! But he certainly had fun for a bit. The rest of us just got wet!

The 'skittles' will be hitting the line soon! As in 'hours' soon! Meaning that Conner Avenue Assembly will finish the 300 pre-spec cars shortly (150 very slowly and carefully built Launch Edition cars, 100 SRT Track Pack cars, and 50 dealer special edition units). And, by the way...
Viper gang
You guys are so detailed, and so predictable ;) ! Team Viper debated whether we should spend the money to update this small detail, as this is money we could instead spend on performance improvement elsewhere. At the end of the day, we decided to leave 'Fangs' on the rear diff...
