Scarcity, especially for Gen III. Convertibles were made from 2003 to 2006, coupes only for the 2006 model year totaling approx 1000 cars. Take away the totaled ones and you get into a rare car.
Just listed my 2006 on the auction site to go with the club listing. Priced to sell! If she doesn't sell I have a hard offer from the dealership. Would like it to go to a club member.
Thanks, Mike
I thought the back looked too much like a Camaro too but in person it looks better. I pan on getting rid of the lettering and doing some debadging to clean the exterior. Will leave the taillights alone.
Yup, that's my blue coupe for sale. Could even loan you the Passport 9500ix but you have to mail it back! :) In 6th gear you are doing 90 mph and 1800 RPM. It's been a great car but the new Stingray is calling me.
Hi Invadermoose,
I have the Blue/White 2006 coupe First Edition for sale in the classifieds. Worth checking out, I had it shipped to me from Sarasota 2 years ago, cost me $600 total. I drove it to Indianapolis and back on Monday, would make the trip to Florida easily if you wanted to drive...
Any possiiblity selling this as an install kit? Love what you guys have done, I have this setup in my 2010 Jeep as a factory install. It is awesome. I have a 2006 coupe with the Chinese radio and GPS/Bluetooth. It works but doesn't have that factory finish.
Repair it to obtain a salvage title then sell it into a state with lenient title laws. It will show the car as clean. As far as I know Carfax will always follow it around and use google and these forums to sniff these skunks out.
$43,000 for a totaled coupe that has been rebuilt? For $5000 more you can get a 2006 coupe with a clear Carfax. I hope the person that purchased this realizes what they bought. Even if you bought it to "wash" the title would it be worth the few thousand you would get?
Replace the tires first. Vipers and old tires are a bad combination. Pay attention to tire date codes. You hit 4 years, get new ones no matter how much tread is left.
Tons better. Length of throw is shorter and smoother. MGW makes a quality product. Stock shifter felt like I was grabbing a baseball and sat way too high. Very pleased with the change, wouldn't think of going back.
Can't be done from the top without cutting away part of the sheet metal. I did mine last Spring, took about 4 hours (I am very slow). Take all the stuff off the top, get the car up on 4 jackstands, remove the belly pan and lower the tranny approx six inches. There are 4 bolts to remove and...
Nah, no cold beverages. I'm just getting old. i would work on it until my arms got tired hugging the tranny and would get out and walk around the car until the blood got into my hands again. Well worth it, the MGW shifter is the way to go.
I did it last summer, had to drop the tranny 6 inches. The hole in the tunnel is not large enough to remove the OEM shifter and put the new shifter in. The 4 bolts are a blind remove and install, did it all by touch. Real PITA. Took about 5 hours but I take my time on projects. Good luck...
Hi Stretch! Long time no talk. Hope the move went well, you guys settled in? Please send me the shop info, want the job done right. Headed to KW in two weeks, need another flag?
Mike
Hey guys, I do mean the front nose/bumper/splitter. I have a FE 2006 coupe and there is a 2 inch split on the bottom and some heavy curb rash. It's raining today, so it's not coming out of the garage. It is the painted part with the white stripes. The split is horizontal on the drivers side...
