6th to 5th Shift

My Viper (97 GTS, 12k) will not shift from 6th directly to 5th. While I don't need to do this often (usually go from 6th to 4th) I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it might indicate some other deeper trouble. Tom (Welch), I think I have heard you mention this problem, I would be interested in what you had done. I would like to get this fixed if needed before my warrenty runs out.

Take it to the dealer and get a NEW transmission. There is a service bulletin on this i believe. Happened to me and they replaced it with no questions asked. They even had a tranny in stock! If you have any questions please call me.

I've got the same problem. The local dealer wants to pull my
transmission, check the throwout bearing etc. Then depending
on the results, he will order a tranny. This means giving them the car twice when I know the tranny needs replacing. Where can I go to find the TSB to show the dealer.
