My car competed, but not me. John Freeman used to own it, and he did at least one UTCC at VIR a few summers ago. I think he's still a member of this forum.

I'm seeing him at lunch today. I'll mention your post.

I've done it. Tons of fun, my first time at ViR with my ACR and it was rainy early and I never really got a good clean lap due to traffic. Lots of fast car and drivers. Might go again some day.

Let me add that the complaint I had was there was no test day..when I was in it anyway.. They used NASA Friday and you go out there cold on Friday am. If you had never been on VIR and you get in between some 4WD cars or something where you can't just follow then it's a drag. The track and event deserves some prep. Local guys rule it.

At the end of the three day weekend, two NASA TTl days after the UTCC, I was running good times but didn't fare well on the Friday grid, not to mention the wet track in the am. The track and event deserves some prep. Local guys rule it. Its still fun. Plan to do the NASA event after bcz the UTCC alone will just wet your appetite for the track.

As it turns out, I can't go anyway. I have a conflict I can't get out of.
