Do people really buy cars like that on E-bay?

Yes, they do.
It's a hugh gamble, but sometimes you can get a good deal.
In mid 2012 I saw an ad for a 2009 SSG Viper SRT-10 w/Areo package. 1 of 3 w/silver pearl stripe.
842 miles
No bids. Buy now was $89,995
I made a slap-dick low offer. Finally got it for $76,000.
Guy heard they were not going to make vipers and bought and stored for "investment to impress his wife".
When they announced future vipers were going to be produced she made him sell.
He sent the window sticker that had $106,995.
Car arrived via enclosed transport in perfect shape.
This price alowed me to do engine and interior mods I would not have normally been able to afford.
But that's just me.

Wow. Good score on the car. :2tu:

If I listed my gen III on E-bay, the ad would be a little more realistic.

Something like........
2006 Viper coupe, Venom Red.
Price depending on how much gas is in the tank at the time of sale.
5 bucks for the car, 75 bucks if it has a full tank.
Extra set of 10-spoke wheels included....cuz they are worth nothing.
Also have an extra blown-up rear diff that can be used as a boat anchor if you have a boat.
serious inquiries only.

;)

Haha, I know that feeling. About to tick over 70k miles on my 04. Based on mileage depreciation I think that means I'd have to pay someone to take it off my hands, lol.

You could buy anything off eBay these days. I purchased my first Viper off eBay, and scored a great deal back then. I spoke with the sales manager and was told they are into it close to that number because the owner traded on a Murcielago they wanted to really move. So bottom number is $77,500. Said I will let that sit for a while as that is VERY close to '13 SRT money.

Yeah.............. *****.
Nothing wrong with your car.
But you took it out of the garage more than once and drove it.
Now it is also only worth 5 bucks like my car.

Who enjoys the Viper ownership experience more though?
The garage queen flawless car guy, or us?

What's the point of a fun fast car if you're not driving it? You probably get a lot more out of yours with all the racing than me with my daily driving, but I've always sworn one of these days I'll take it to the track for fun at least.
