If you add the 10% premium the buyer has to pay BJ, it cost $77k. The VW'a always go for silly money !!

With the 8% seller's fee deducted(and the lot/time sensitive "entry" fee), the owner walked away with around $64k before any transport fees. Ouch!

Almost anything new goes for less $$$. I have seen 100K cars sell in the teens. Late model expensive BMW, Porsches, Mercedes, etc. all go for a fraction of the cost new. Seller would have been better off selling to a Viper interest crowd than at Barrett Jackson. On the other hand, a lot of older cars go for bargain prices. You gotta know the market.

Just a few months ago, an orange ACR went for about $125k at the Palm Beach auction. I think a lot of it has to do with rarity of the car - the ones that were rare seem to go for big bucks. It is the end of the summer, though, so this isn't the best time to sell a summer car...
