I think one of the mopar magazines ran 11.77 in 01 with evan smith at the wheel of an rt/10 and I also have seen someone on the board who ran 11.76(Mike B) not sure on the specifics of his car though, I know he said it was stock, I ran 12.05 in my 97 Gts when it stock so i would say you are getiing right down there. Good driven man. Jerry

It would be a great idea to have a list on the website which would set out the best 1/4 mile times for Stock Vipers; N/A Vipers and F/I Vipers.

SilverViperGTS is right. Most of this is found in the FAQ, but I think the FAQ needs an update.

Gee!! I was rather thinking about a REAL list with all this information: 60', 1/8, 1/4, Trap Speed, Date, driver's name, car (model, year, modifications, etc.), etc.

What are the best 1/4 mile times ever compiled for a FACTORY STOCK Gen II Viper??

(FACTORY STOCK= for non-ACR version: NO K&N's, NO smooth tubes, NO headers, NO catback, NO slicks or drag radials, mufflers and cats must not be removed)

I did 11.894s (60' of 1.790s).

For example, in a non-ACR version, I don't think that you can say your car is STOCK if you add K&N's and smooth tubes (10 RWHP is 10 RWHP after all !!!)

In my case, my GTS was FACTORY STOCK except that I removed the spare tire!!

Man I don't have the slip because it was 1998 but there were alot of viper guys there like the president of the New Mexico Chapter George Farris and many other members, Biff from Vipermania was also there. I am good at riding the clutch and I think my short time was like a 1.79 and later that day I bolted on a set of drag radials and ran an 11.41 in eliminations with a 1.64 short and my car was only a month old with 400 miles on it. But I doubt this is a record, I have seen other guys in stock cars run consistent 11.6 and 11.7 ets at other tracks and the guys were not even members of the vca just gearheads with vipers.Mark Brown is one guy who comes to mind that runs consistent 11.7 and 11.6 times in his stock car.

I have a hard time believing that these runs were done on street tires.

I think that anything under 12 seconds with a stock Gen II Viper is Great.

I haven't yet taken my Viper drag racing, but I'll be pleased if I get under 12.5 on my first visit to the track, and really happy if I can get into the high 11's with my mild mods.
