I ended up getting a CCW "Big Foot" package classics for my Viper. Sizes are supposed to be 17x13 rear 18x12 fronts. I haven't measured them but that seems correct. Has 335 rear tires which look correct, but has 295 tires on the front. Now these front tires are stretched to hell and looks rice / bad.

My question is what are these rims really for? The fronts seem to stick out a little bit more past the front fender then I'd like. Should I get a 315/335 tire to fill out the wheel (but have the tire sticking out up front?)

I can put a smaller outter lip on which would help the wheel fit the car and a 295 ish tire better.

Anyone have any experience with these?

I believe those were a road race package, but your best bet would be to call CCW.

17" rear should be to accommodate a drag radial so the side wall is taller and will react better for straight line grip I would think. The skinny front would lower rolling resistance also with higher pressures. The 12" front though does seem odd...

It was a set up for auto x. 17x13 rear and 18x12 front for 335's all around. I'm putting a smaller front lip on and running 315s fronts with 335 rears. Also got some 345/40/17 DR i'll try out for fun. Should get interesting.

The 18s allowed larger brake components up front. The 305/18 has the same revs/mile and tread mold as 315/17 in the Hoosier brand. The 18 has a shorter sidewall and better steering response than the 17" tire. The taller rear 17" tire sidewall works better with the Viper.335 width all around sticks like chewing gum on a hot sidewalk, but will rub the hood on Gen1&2 cars.
