GeeTeeS, I’m familiar with BAT via another website related to cars that I owned, a Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet and a Porsche 928. Through numerous sales of cars owned by many people that enjoy the site I can say without question that there was some friendly talk from time to time of adding a bid to a car to try to help a fellow site member, but it was just talk, no one ever actually did that. And it was a silly thought to have anyway because BAT allows a Seller to add a Reserve Minimum Price. A Reserve is the minimum price that the Seller will accept to sell the car.

One of my children really loves conspiracy theories, and I understand because they are fun! But your notion that vast numbers of the cars sold on BAT have sales prices driven up by shill bidding is just a conspiracy theory.

The folks at the other site refer to the people that comment on auctions in a negative way as “The Peanut Gallery.” Take a look at the last few comments on this auction:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-porsche-928-gts-24/

That guy truly cannot understand how someone would value the car higher than what he would. In his mind the Buyer “grossly” overvalued it and paid way too much. So who is right, the guy sitting on the sidelines and just complaining that the car is overvalued or the guy who actually bought the car? I have my opinion.

Whoa... Hold on there cowboy. How did we get to children and conspiracy theories......
Please re-read my post. That is your theory, not mine.

I'm also well aware of “The Peanut Gallery” however sadly, it seems it's not limited to just online auction sites.

Wait, you didn’t write an entire paragraph about how BAT cars are overpriced by shill bidding?

I just reread this entire thread. Funny, my first post, #4, nailed it. Not hard to see who you are, a JDS Fan Boi (cheap Japanese cars with a bolt on turbo) and see that this thread is a sham. I agree, in this instance you are “The Peanut Gallery.”
