Finally got my 3.55's installed yesterday by Eddie Martin...great job. Question is...how long do I have to wait before I punch down the gas pedal?

Eddie said about 100 miles or so, but thought I would get other opinions on that...:slomo:

Yea they need some heat cycles as much as run in unless they were already the cryo/polished gear sets. I would say at least 300-400 miles and a dozen heat cycles before hard driving. Check fluid condition after 1000 miles also for any wear issues.

The instructions that I got were, the gear set needs to initially see 3 heat cycles of 20 minutes of driving and then a complete cool down. Not to exceed 55MPH for the first 100 miles and not to exceed 65mph for the next 400 miles. Thankfully, I am now 1000 plus into my break in cycle.

By the way, you will love the change!

i no one thing, my 08 had 1k on them before my first pedal to the metal move, and after one of those little manuvers i had pinion howl, yep i loosned her up in 15 secondes. that was from a 30mph roll to the floor never letin off through 2-3-4 gear. i wont do that again.

Thanks. Well, I already blew that cycle, since I drove it at about 70 mph back home from the dealership. Will try to take her out on the weekends and do the cycling that was mentioned. From everything I've heard, those 3.55's are gonna be awesome....can't wait!

Did you use a crush sleave or a solid spacer on this? Just trying to figure out what made it go south in one instance.

i would have to say severe torque to the rear pinion and it could not take the heat- junk crap for that torque- factory rear axle pooey, just cant handle a little abusive hard torque.
