Hi Guys , looking to buy my 2nd Viper on Friday. 08/16/19, I am going to take it to a Viper Tech. The car is a Convertible, with 18k miles on it. What , if anything special to look out for ?
    Thanks in advance,

The main things that seem to be issues with the gen 3 (at least my gen 3 so far) are the power steering and oil cooler lines. Though in your case, 18,000 miles on a car that's 13 years old is just under 1400 miles a year. That's not too bad, but that's a lot of sitting, so I'd be wary of any seals and rubber parts. Otherwise though the cars are pretty bulletproof if they have basic maintenance. Mine is at 126,000 miles (bought it with 43,000 a little over 6 years ago) and it's been pretty awesome. I did the power steering lines, oil cooler lines, and new shocks as "failed" parts in all that time. I've replaced others as well, but that was due to my own fault and desire to upgrade at times.

I purchased an '04 with 8500 miles in April and assumed with the low miles the car would need minimal attention. I was wrong and regret not having a solid 3rd party inspection performed, as I purchased the car sight unseen. So far I have rebuilt the p/s rack (leaking), replaced the shocks due to leaks, replacing oil cooler lines next due to leaks, changing all fluids, a proper alignment, hatch and hood props and great tires are a must. Window regulators appear to have issues, but mine have been behaving perfectly so far.
I have 1500 miles so far and enjoying every moment.

I have a 2005 SRT-10 convertible. I agree with the power steering & oil cooler lines. Mine also had the cracked driver side exhaust manifold. A weld cracks on the engine side of the manifold. It throws a catalytic converter code. My research says that it is a common problem on Gen 3s. I had it replaced with a Bellanger high performance exhaust since it wasn't very much more than an original exhaust that might crack again.
