Gents
I have a -95 and a previous owner has fitted glass side windows. Its bit of a hack job and I’m working on reversing or at least tidy it up. However, I’m confused.. from the looks of it, it seems that they made an effort of changing the window frame. I think this is a newer R/T frame?! Doesnt look like a gen 1 frame or? Not the right weatherstripping for windows either. Maybe unobtanium? Doors are gen 1 modified to accept windows. Looks like crap but it works. Can anyone confirm If this is a gen 1 or 2 frame? I have nice set If gen 1 doors and I planned to fit them but I dont know If thats going to work with a newer frame. U know with the plastic side windows. Oh well, maybe just accept that its a roadster with no practical use and avoid rain any input is appreciated! Thanks

Post more pictures.

But if it works to keep the rain out, just clean it up and enjoy it. Function over form. Then when you sell convert it to stock.

Definitely need more pics. I tried to match up with what you have. See if it answers your question. Mine is a 94. That part with a bit of weatherstripping is the one which seems out of place.

Edit : On second thought things do look different between ours. Not sure what is what now. But hopefully the photos help?

Thanks!! Yep I think I have a newer windshield frame. Yours seem to have a pocket for the side windows facing outwards. My frame is flat. Maybe they did the window conversion while one could get the weatherstripping for the later R/Ts. I will swap doors for my earlier even though I might struggle with the plastic windows. Back to oem..

It looks like your frame has a fairing for the side windows to tuck under, while the '94 has an indent from the outboard side. I just remember my '93 leaked terribly in the rain when I was driving it back from Hennessey's on the Katy Freeway after VOI #1 - both from the header and the windshield frame sides. I was steering with my knee against the wheel while holding the header and side curtain corners as tight as I could.

IMO, you're not a REAL Viper owner unless you've owned a Gen 1. Real character builders! :lmao2:
