3R Second, Third and Ninth at Infineon

Sonoma, Calif. -- 3R-Racing rebounded from a tough Mid-Ohio weekend three
weeks ago to finish second, third and ninth in round four of the SCCA Pro
Racing World Challenge GT series at Infineon Raceway today.

Phil McClure driving the number 73/Aggregate Industries/3R Corvette, started
from pole position. The drop of the green saw the lighter Porsche, which
started second, come up along side of McClure going into turn two. "I didn't
quite have the start that I had hoped for, I was along side of the Porsche going
into two trying to keep the lead, but if I would have pushed the issue I would
have spun him. The car was really consistent, I could make up ground on him
through the esses and into the last turn, but the rear engined Porsche can
really put down the power out of the turn. Second is a good finish after our DNF
at Mid-Ohio."

Teammate Tommy Archer driving the 22/c3controls/Whelen Engineering/3R Viper
rocketed from his fifth place qualifying position to almost lead the first lap.
"I got another good launch, I really like these standing starts. I was up
there ready to take over the lead when Phil and Porsche got mixed up, but I
couldn't quite make it happen. The Audi helped me out today, holding up my
pursuers, when they got by him I had to put my head down and go. The Cadillac was
right there at the end and the weight of my car was eating up my right rear
tire. It is nice to be on the podium."

In the 33/1st Interstate Inns/3R Viper, Tim Wiens finished is a very
competitive ninth place. "I made a conservative start, as I was in the middle of the
pack. On the restarts was being held up a little by the Audi that was falling
back so I couldn't make all of the moves I wanted. The car was consistent,
but you can definitely feel our extra weight around here. After our
spectacular early exit at Mid-Ohio, this is a good result."

The team travels immediately to Oregon for round five of the series to be run
at Portland Raceway on Sunday, July 25.
