I'm trying to reconnect the hydraulic line to the transmission, but it won't go in far enough to catch the retainer clips (about a 1/2 inch short). Am I missing a part or is there a trick?

Hey Jim,
Get a mirror to allow a look inside the recepticle. See if the locking retainer is bent at all. I just did my clutch yesterday and mine went right in and locked in place. Good luck,

No luck....there is a metal piece surrounded by a plastic piece that butts up against the tip of the plug when I try to insert it. It would seem that the pastic piece should slide inward to allow the plug to seat.

Very strang?????
