Is there a Clear coat of paint over the top of Viper Red?

Got a rock chip in the roof of my red GTS, going to try to fix it myself by applying touch-up paint until it is built up over the chip then wet sand it flush and polish it out. Dont think i can do this if it has a clear coat. Any suggestions?

Sure you can. Pick up some Langka, it works great for knocking down the blob. If you go to Corvetteforum car care section or Autopia.org and do a search on Langka you will find plenty to read.

Yes this is a base/clear finish. there is a clear top coat of paint. Yes you can still touch up a small nick or chip with touch up paint.

This base/clear finish is on it from the first one produced.
