"As of January 1, 2002 the Luxury Tax rate will fall to three percent on new vehicles with a transaction price in excess of $40,000."


"The Luxury Tax is scheduled to expire at the end of 2002."


"Trucks, vans and SUV's with a loaded gross vehicle weight over 6000 lbs are exempt from the Luxury Tax."
