Model car guys please help

I am looking to make a copy of my Copperhead Edition Viper with a Gen4 hood. The best way I thought I could do it is to get a model of a gen4 and repaint it in the Copperhead color. I would need a vert of course. Looking on the net the only models I could find were 2003. I did find some 2009 verts but they are die cast and not models. That would make them a lot harder to paint. Anyone know where I can get what I'm looking for? I would like 1:18 but would take 1:24 if thats all that is available.

Second question:

I notice last year the hot wheels, Johnny lightning, etc cars at the stores were mostly ACRs. Now its all Gen 5s. What happens to the old cars when the new ones are put in? I wouldn't mind picking up a bunch of Gen 3s to give away to kids if I can get them cheep.

I'd like to see what you do. I may buy a white 2003 'koni' die cast and paint on the blue stripes to match mine.

Last VOI there was a company that made custom metal gen 4 replica hoods but they have since sadly gone belly up

oops, gotta look around the board more. Didn't even know that forum existed. Maybe a Mod can move this there for me.
