Need help on Viper purchase

Hi guys, Im new to the forum. Just purchased a 01'GTS (as if you could not have guessed). I am not totally up to date on all the Viper issues. But I know there were some head gasket issues...

Anyway, I have not actually taken possesion of this car, as I am being told its in the shop getting a radiator leak fixed. This is a car with less than 4,000 miles. Should I be concerned??? I mean, sure it could be just a radiator leak, right. I need someone to make me feel better right now, Im worried, about a head gasket problem.

01's are not known for head gasket problems?
What shop is it at? Call the shop and talk to
someone there. Ask to have the work order faxed
to you. You could also have your local dodge dealer
or the Viper Wizard run the VIN to see what has been
done at Dodge dealers as far as work on the car.
Have you had a car fax done on it?

I have run carfax,comes up fine. Its a 1-owner car, with VERY,VERY limited miles. I cant imagine something major (like a head gasket) being wrong with the car. But I am being told the car may be in the shop for 1-2 weeks???

'01 had an issue with water pumps, I believe the leak could be from that. It maybe a recall.

The head gasket problems you have read about relate only to generation 1 Vipers.

What did you pay? The mileage is so low. I have a deal on an '01 with 12K for around $45K. Godd deal or not?
