[PICS] Vette vs Mopar shootout... Witnessed ALL motor GTS run 9.5@142mph

From 8:30-11:30 was the road course and 11:30-til was the drags.

Paired up on the track was a nice race prepped GTS(cage, suspension) and a black Z06(appeared stock). The Z06 owner was out driving, out cornering and out braking the Viper, BUT in the striaghts you can tell the Z06 was outgunned and handled business. The Z06 lead for most of the laps until the last two when he spun out and the Viper took the lead and won.

Fastest car of the day belonged to a local doctor. It's a full interior bored and stroked '96 GTS that he swaped an <b>AUTOMATIC</b> in. All motor he was running 9.5@ 142mph. VERY impressive indeed.

What a great weekend! That All Motor Viper running the drag strip on Friday was amazing! The sound coming from that thing during the burn-out was awesome..and from a distance it looked stock!

What year is the red/white GTS? If it's '01 or '02 and race-prepared, I'm surprised to read that the Vette was leading at all.
