Quaife Diff Problems
Well guys, as you know, I am on with a TT build and have decided to upgrade the differential.

I got a Quaife unit and sent it along with the casing to have it assembled at a specialist.

It turned out that the screw holes in the unit were 3/8" instead of 7/16". I have contacted Quaife who were just not interested and the vendor I got it from was of the same attitude.

I spoke to a very helpful guy at Taylor Racing who told me that for the later cars they too have to perform this same task.

So I decided to do it myself!

Carl,

I am sorry to hear the lack of support from the other folks,
And by the looks of your pictures everything has worked out OK.

I will say very nice work.....
And the attention to taping up the oil holes....nice.

Please let me know if there is anything we can do for ya.

Carl, well done on going for it, you will not be disapointed, the Quaife is the way to go for diff (not trans though!!) I've bought this diff several years ago, and since installed several. Joel's going this way too now, after his polished treated stock didn't hold out :-( I did hear of your bolt problem and told Neil the info, which you now know (but he may have got 'lost' with the tech details) the 7/16 sorts an early weak point that was discovered in racing. Make sure you run it in correctly, and with the right oil. BTW, it used to be that Quaife USA could only supply Viper, but that has since changed and UK prices are not so bad, did they not sort you out?

Nadine,.

So you bought your Viper diff from Autotech.?
And now you can go straight to Quaife?

Where did Carl get his from.
