Coming up on October 20th is "Corvettes Against ****** Cancer" at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Yes...I said the "C" word. The cool thing is with the help of club member David Liles, the Corvette group has invited us to join them (along with some Porsches as well) to join in on their fight against ****** cancer. For $50, you can drive your Viper around the oval for 5 paced laps at AMS and attend a carshow later in the day at Summit Racing in McDonough, GA. All laps around the track will be paced by a pacecar. Here's the schedule for the day:
8:30am: Registration at Atlanta Motor Speedway
9:30am: Paced laps around the oval at AMS
11:30am: Police escorted caravan to Summit Racing in McDonough for a carshow
12:30pm: Carshow begins
In past years, they have had a Corvette racecar with a professional driver who will take you around the track at WOT for an additional fee ($25?). I would assume they are doing this again this year. Also, since this is a Corvette event and they are nice enough to let us join them, I don't think Vipers will be eligible for awards at the carshow, but we all know which car is better anyway
Just for being a GA-VCA member and showing up to let the Vette guys know who have the REAL cars, the GA-VCA will pay $25 of your entry fees, meaning you only pay $25 for the 5 paced laps and the carshow! No need to RSVP. Just be at the track by 9:00am so we can get everyone registered at once. If you are going to be late, please call my cell phone before 9:00am so we can go on and get you registered!
