Not sure about the car you were looking at but a few aftermarket tuners sell kits to convert your rear exit exhaust to side exit. I know TNT has a kit.

Not an option that I am aware of.
I have a 99 RT/10 that I converted over to a sidepipe car. The factory sidepipe sills bolt right up.

I believe there were a few PICTURES that came out of the factory of the prototype GTS that DID had sidepipes.... but that's it ... just pictures .... no coupes with sidepipes.... ever! ... yet!

The GTS prototype(s) had capped sidepipes and rear exhaust. You can also spot this car in pictures because it has a more aggressive front fascia than the production coupes. Not to mention the Gen1 interior and engine...
