Re: \"Siping\" tires???

Siping old hard hockey pucks that handle terribly MIGHT be a way to restore some tread squirm and create heat. Siping should be used to achieve RAIN handling or snow-ice handling. PERIOD !

Siping GOOD ultra-high-performance tires can ruin their handling. I believe it would be a huge mistake on a VIPER....but OK on your father's Oldsmobile.

lots of higher end snow tires have them from the manufacturer, the Nokian Hakkapalitta's(btw the best snow tires !) that were on my wifes awd M-B wagon had them and that car could get through the snow better than my yukon

I've siped the tires on my jeep, but would never consider it
on the viper or mustang. I can't imagine how long the tread
would last in a high performance application.
