"Snake skin" and front badges

\"Snake skin\" and front badges

Why do some "sneaky pete" front badges have a visible "snake skin" and others do not? My ’01 yellow GTS has the skin but another '01 I saw recently does not. Has anyone else noticed this difference between cars, perhaps in other colors?

There are some aftermarket badges out there without the snakeskin. OEM badges have the skin.

dimitrios.... i have a yellow car, and i wondered the same after seeing a crazy red one on an earlier gts... At first it donset look liek it has scales, however, if u get it in the sunlight its possible to see the scales. They dont look like much becuase of the paint... at least thats my car, i would think the 01 and 02 would be the same

you wanna know what looks awesome, I got the chrome side hood badges from partsrack and I just got around to puttin them on like 3 days ago man they look awesome,they set off the whole side of the car, I took pics if anyone wants to see them pm me your e-mail.
