I have been thinking about the death of the Camaro and Firebird. Even though GM didn't think these cars were profitable there will now be 30-40,000 people out there a year with no car to buy, and you know they won't buy Mustangs. Well what about Chrysler? Sure they have the awesome Viper and Prowler, but these are a little spendy for the Camaro-Firebird buyer. What about a mid-engine, 300-350hp Chrysler. Something with the 4.7 engine out of the Dakota or the rumored new HEMI, and a 6-speed borrowed from the Viper to keep the cost down. By selling it for between $30-35,000 this car would also have one up on the Mustang and S2000 competition, the exotic appeal. A rear engine entry level supercar for $35,000 that might look something like this. I will post the front view when it is completed.
