OK, I've got a noise in my '08 vert.
It's coming from the rear of the car,
when I'm making right turns of 90 degrees or more (sometimes on left turns too),
at slow speeds,
it does not happen if I take the same turns at higher speeds or roll throught them in neutral
It sounds like a rubbing or muffeled grinding.

The car is stock except for steel braided brake lines.

Is it just the diff. closing? Am I just insane? My '05 never did it.

Must be those braided brake lines.

Damn mod happy Texans. Was working just fine until you messed with it.

Really though, don't the 05's and 08's use a different diff? Meaning that comparison may be apples-oranges kinda like?

NOT NORMAL {some 'clunk' is normal}

I suspect whomever did the SS lines may not have torqued the wheels? First Thing would be to remove and re-torque the Rear Wheels. When off, check the lug holes and stud threads. Then check the SS lines for signs of rubbing the tires. "generic" unbracketed lines might be a culprit.....

Truth of the matter is, I don't think it has anything to do with the brake lines, as the noise only comes from the rear of the car and I have the lines on all four corners.

The installer on the brake lines does alot of race car set up and works on my Shelby as well, he's a pretty solid guy.

The car has about 7K miles on it and I've never had the diff fluid changed. I thought you do that during a later service interval.

I was pretty careful during the brake in period with the car.

Any further thoughts?

I wonder why then with a gear swap that after the 500 mile break-in on them, you do a fluid change, but not on a brand new car with brand new gears. Not consumer friendly?

That does seem a bit odd. But yeah, that might be a bit off putting to a new car owner.
"Enjoy your brand new $100K car! Oh, and by the way, we'll see you in 500 miles for a diff fluid change!"
Probably not good news to give a guy on his first day of ownership.
