Well, after owning a gen one, dummy me thought the battery was still under my 06 coupe. SURPRISE, after removing left rear wheel, inner fender panel, HEY----no battery, just some evap parts. I could see it but, no way would it have an interior panel to remove--NO WAY. Replacing this battery would have been done in minutes if I did it right. Oh well, it's in. Learned something new yesterday.

You're not silly for thinking it's still "under" because it is. You're silly for thinking you could get to it the same way. And don't go blaming Dodge for adding the truck mat in '04. LOL....

Driving a Gen I for extended periods of time is known to cause some loss of cognitive ability. It is normal. The loss is permanent so soon you will not remember that you did what you did and that you posted about it. So put a reminder in your wheel well for the next time your battery has a problem. Then you can have the weird experience of wondering who put the note there when you see it. LQ.
