Window Regulator Repair Possibility

I have a Prowler, and the window regulators are a serious problem too.
A guy came up with a neat repair DYI.
I have never seen a Viper regulator, but someone with experience may be able to tell if this could work on Viper regulators.
If so, it may be worth a try.

I did a very similar fix for my regulator using tubing, aircraft wire, and zip ties. Ugly to look at, but it's lasted 2 years. I'd post a pic, but I'm just an "owner" and over my picture limit.
