    Texas Emissions test

Is your car showing a CEL? If it's not, you should be fine. The only emissions test is they hook up an OBD II cable and check for any codes, no codes, no problem.

    Texas Emissions test

I just got my car inspected today, lived in Austin for 17 years, never once had an emissions test performed. *edit* I should say it's never once had a tailpipe test, they always hook up the OBD II reader. and if you threw a code that's gonna be an issue. I used to know a guy that would pass it...

Purchasing a 2013 GTS, first Viper

Thank you! It's actually got black Rattlers on it now, I got the names confused it's the Sidewinder 2's that I want to put on. Need to find a set somewhere first...

Purchasing a 2013 GTS, first Viper

Greetings, all. I'm in the purchasing phase just getting ready to transfer the money on a 2013 Viper GTS. I've wanted a Viper since I was a teenager, and I have the opportunity to get one now, so I'm pulling the trigger. I have not driven a Viper, but I've had a manual sportscar for most of the...

Advice: Looking for a Gen III/IV, question about higher mileage

Thanks for the feedback guys, seems like I need not worry much about the mileage on a Viper as long as it has been well looked after with good records, and passes a mechanical inspection.

    E85 on a Gen IV??

It's.... entertaining, but it was more fun when I was 30 than it is now that I'm 40. Looking to sell it and get a Viper finally.

    E85 on a Gen IV??

I don't know about Viper engines and E85, but I know you can advance the timing a bit with the higher octane of E85. I have an SRT-4 tuned for E85 that puts down ~475hp at the front, that's a combination of being able to run more boost as well as advance the timing a good amount because of the...

Advice: Looking for a Gen III/IV, question about higher mileage

Gents, I've decided now, in my 40th year, I will just bite the bullet and get myself a Viper finally. I'm specifically looking for a 2006+ coupe, looking to pay $35-55k depending on the year and mileage. If I get a 2006 I'd likely want to do the h/c/e and throw on some KW coilovers, 2008+ I'd...

7 min Hi Res video of 2013 Viper GTS running on the street. Ignition sounds at 4:00

Re: 7 min Hi Res video of 2013 Viper GTS running on the street. Ignition sounds at 4: Come on, really? +40hp/+40tq and -100lbs, with a 50% stiffer chassis, this car will feel very different from the Gen IV. The Gen IV was such a phenominal car, fastest production car in the world, and...

new Viper gets a mention on Top Gear

I don't recall them ever testing the 4th Gen Viper at all, and I've looked, searched, waited, wished for a long time that they would dare test the king of the 'Ring, but afaik they never did.

    800HP V10 crate engine, 650HP bolt-on kit for Gen III's, announced today

That's not surprising, it's a drag application only piece. Not usable on the street anyways, it lacks accessories and has a 12.5:1 compression ration, it's for pro drag racing teams, and they'll be buying it.

    800HP V10 crate engine, 650HP bolt-on kit for Gen III's, announced today

This seriously makes me want to buy a Gen III way more now. If it maintains the Gen III's low-end torque, and makes more power than the Gen IV stock motor, combined with the mechanical throttle, I think I'd love the Gen III 650HP setup more than a Gen IV with a full exhaust at the same power levels.

    800HP V10 crate engine, 650HP bolt-on kit for Gen III's, announced today

I'm betting the crate motor will be big bucks, $30k+, but who knows, maybe not? I hope the 650HP Gen III package comes in under $10k, seems like heads/intake manifold/throttle body/injectoirs/PCM should be do-able for under that pricetag. That's an amazing setup, can't wait to see the dyno...
