How many coats of wax?

do you generally put on your viper? If you drive it almost daily in summer/spring/fall do you wax it/buff it more than once a year?

I have about fifteen coats of zaino,I like waxing!!!!!(I am in counseling for this)
It's a PIA if you want to remove but it sure looks pretty!!

Generally , I do a 4 step process in the spring ( end of april ). The 4 Step Process is Light Polish ( if you have small imperfections ) , Wet Glaze , Wet Wax , and Opti - seal. Then I use Wet Obsession and OPT Spray Wax Through the year , and the winter it gets like 8 coats + . Everything is a Easy on Easy off Product .

I use the Meguires NXT.2 between good coats of a top shelf carnuba.

You can't see the difference between 2 coats or 20.... tried it many times. It's the surface prep that makes the difference.

I love to "wax" the wheels, then use a duster on them when dirty. Works great!

trample world, errr uh i mean wally world has a Maguires gift box, just in time for Christmas that incl's interior wipes, tire foam, NXT 2 and their better QD spray and a free Maguires ss travel mug for $20. a good deal if you are running low

I am not sure I agree, on my Sapphire car it seems to make a difference in depth but even if it doesnt it saves me on therapy fees!

I know what it's like to feel like I have to do things that I know are ridiculous and that don't make any sense.
One thing that I learned over the years is that when we are obsessed with something that there is always a fear driving that obsession.
What is the fear that drives you to clean all the time?
Do you fear germs, do you fear that if something isn't clean you'll look bad, or that it makes you a bad person?
As humans our behavior is driven by two things, to avoid pain or to receive pleasure.
In the case of obsessions, it's usually driven by the avoiding pain part.
So now that you know that you are trying to avoid some pain, it's important to really think about what that pain is that you're trying to avoid.
Once you isolate that fear. Think about how you can face it. Really think about this and spend time pondering the different ways you can face this fear. Once you generate some ideas, it's time to put them into practice.
Here are some ideas that you can put into practice right now that will guide you along your way.
1.) refuse to perform the rituals and wait to see if the thing you fear happens or not no matter how major it may be.
2.) get medication from your doctor to help you deal with the anxiety while you go through this transition period.
3.) Get a buddy to help you. Not to be a crutch, but to challenge you to take action in facing your fears.

I clay bar 3 times a year and have several coats of Speed Shine and Spray on wax(Griot's Garage). My cars never get washed(weekend cars) with water just dusted and spray on detailers and waxes.

No fear of driving I put 6-8 k on the car a year have driven in the rain numerous times
if you have ever owned a dark color you realize they are high maintenance to keep clean.I like the shine .Some people are crazy enough to like cutting grass I like detailing/ waxing the car.Your advice is good though.Unfortunately I think shock treatments are my best bet!!!!

Mothers® Reflections® Advanced Car Wax

Followed by a coat of quick wax every 1-2 months NanoWax^® Spray

with a gazillion coats of QD inbetween.

Detailing and trying different car care products is a hobby of mine and I have tried and own just about every car care product out there including the high dollar products like Swissvax and Zymol Vintage and have to say that I still feel that Zaino is the best there is. There is a reason why it is the wax everybody compares themselves to. It is the best.

To answer your question I usually put a coat of Zaino on the cars after just about every wash. At the very least a coat of Z8 just to keep it fresh. But then I find that applying a good wax or Zaino is theraputic and gives me an excuse to be with my car even if I am not driving it.

Now my daily drivers don't get nearly as good of treatment and are usually the cars I will use to test products durability etc...

I also try many different abrasive polishes and think that the Menzerna and 3M polishes are two of the best on the market.

The lemon pledge is a little trick a lot of the show car guys used to do. It is loaded with oils similar to some of the glazes and will make your car look awesome but it will also attract a lot of dust and is very short lived.

Plexus is supposed to be very good for the bra and is highly recommended by most of the film manufacturers. I have used both Plexus and Zaino on my clear bra's and have had no issues. My big complaint with Plexus is it does not last very long at all and should be used after just about every wash. Zaino will last much longer like it does on the paint and also has UV inhibitors.

Considering I barely drive my Viper, everytime I actually do I give it a wipe down with some zaino spray, and a quick detail of the interior and wheels etc.

Since I got the Viper I must have at the very least 60 coats of Zaino (Z2,Z5,Z6 Z8)

Plum...I never used Zaino but how come you don't recommend it? Too much hassle with the mixing/accelerator stuff?

I started out with a nice black RT/10 and through many, many hours of painstaking compounding and waxing, I have now gotten the car color to exactly where I want it, a beautiful shade of red....

i always thought that i was a good detailer when i had my corvettes. i would spend all weekend detailing. i was a mequirs freak.when i bought my 94 viper the guy told me he used zaino.i know own every zaino product.i never wash it with h2o.after i drive it usally around the block i use my duster and z6 or z8. when i first bought zaino i first used on my wifes mb slk230.i clay bared it.put 10 coats z5/z2 with z6 between each coat than clear seal then z8.i brought it in for service the dealer asked me what i used said it looked and felt incredable. so for me also my name is tim and i also am a polish-aholic.oh yes i detail much better than i spell.

me personally, i like liquid glass. im also friends with the owner so take it from where it comes...lol

but he has a few "waxes" that are not listed on the site and they work great.
