Any advice on sourcing loom-side ECU connectors (all three) for a 1996 car? There needs to be access to all pins (i.e. not the factory version with some blanked off. Even just a part number would help greatly. Any advice greatly appreciated! :)
My alternator on my 1996 RT/10 has packed in.
Is there any advantage in getting an uprated one (I have a Paxton system running 6-7lbs boost) or should I just go for stock?
Thanks in advance.
I have been offered a second hand AEM 'plug and play' Engine Management System that is compatible (presumably in terms of ECU loom connectivity) with all 1996 - 2002 Vipers (presumably Gen 2).
My question is if this is compatible with my 'Gen 1.5' (i.e., 1996 RT/10) car? I think that one of...
Fairly basic question - how is the closed-loop map managed on a 1996 RT/10. I know that later cars have four narrow-band lambdas but how about the 'Gen 1.5'? Thanks in advance.
I was wanting thoughts on what sizes of pipes I should be taking:
1. from the rocker covers to the oil separation/ catch tank,
2. from the oil separation/ catch tank back to the sump?
I was thinking -12 for 1. and something smaller (-8?) for 2. (since that will back-feed the system on boost...
Thanks for the info.
Given my requirements for the tool, I'm wondering if this is a bit of overkill though? Looking on eBay, you're talking at least $600 for one. What is the actual increased functionality of this tool compared to one of, say, about $150 (plugs directly into lap-top)?
Yes, I'm getting the feeling that LTFT is a pain in the ass for a tuned car! Does it have any advantage in a modified car when you are modifying the map 'manually'?
I have an SCT hand-controller for flashing maps onto the ECU - can I flash on a 'map' that just turns the LTFT off?
Thanks for the reply.
I'm using a 'piggy-back' tuning tool (Split Second FTC1) and need to know what the amount of adaptation in closed loop (i.e., ST + LT fuel trim). With the intention of minimising that using the fuel mapping capabilities of the FTC1.
Can anyone recommend a decent OBDII scan tool that will acquiring engine data for help in closed loop mapping? Specifically ST and LT fuel trim. I have one right now (ODB Link SX) but the software associated with it (OBDWiz) will only appear to show very basic data. Or can I use more advanced...
Can anyone give me details on the transmission code/ type that a 1996 RT/10 has? Sorry, I don't have my service manual with me right now and I need get this information back to a tuner asap. Thanks in advance.
In which case, the loss of head room would make it impossible to have a helmet on in the car for me then - bit of a deal-breaker!
However, I'm also thinking of going for a proper racing seat with 5 point harness (the inertia lock on my standard seat belt has stopped working anyway) - the right...
Great pics and I've always thought that that is the way the RT/10 SHOULD have looked out of the factory.
I'd love to fit one on mine BUT how much head room do you lose without the 'double bubble'? I'm 6'3" and had to get the seat lowering kit for the standard hard top. Gave me an extra couple...
