Did anyone else catch Bill Elliot's comment on TV this weekend talking about his NASCAR win last week. He said car owner Ray Evernham (?) gave him a Viper to celebrate. At least that what I think he said through his southern accent.
I'm still a supporter of a trouble shooting section where problems and their solutions would be listed. It would be better than searching and maybe not finding a real solution. Anybody else want this?
Also how about a section on honest changes and differences between years such as GenI vs GenII...

I want to visit CAAP before they start the changeover to VGX. Is there a good time in the next couple of months that might also allow a Viper/automotive related side trip in the area? Air fares are good right now and they should appreciate the business.
Also, what day of the week is best to...
Does anyony have any experience having the 96 wheels polished or chromed? What were the results? How much did it cost? I'd like to equal the shine on a 2000 wheel.
One of my favorite Corvette books by Noland Adams shows hundreds of photos of the cars being assembled at the plant in the 50's (there is also one for the early 60's) . The photos are a priceless part of Corvette history.
As Viper moves towards the end of Gen ll, I can only hope that such a...
Only double??? I've got a 4 post lift from Autolifters. It's great. Measure the height of the two cars you are storing and add 6". Thats the minimum ceiling height you will need.
I did mine today on my lift. I wouldn't try it with jackstands unless you like swimming in coolant. Overall it was a lot more work than it should be. First problem is finding the proper wrench to remove the block plugs. It must be metric or something. It's between 1/4 and 3/8 square. I ended up...
I bought mine in Oct. and love it. First choice is color. That will determine the year in many cases. I recommend you read, read, read. Read all you can find. Viper club homepage has a link on buying tips. A good search engine will turn up the Chrysler press release on the new (back then) GTS...
I removed the rear muffler on my stock 96 GTS and it sounds much better but still pretty quiet. What will it sound like if I replace the side sill mufflers with straight pipes or glasspacks or even chambered pipe style mufflers? What's your experience?
Is there any consensus on the best spark plugs for normal (Viper normal that is) street driving. I have seen NGK7252's recommended as a slightly colder but fully streetable plug. Any to avoid? Thanks.
My shop manual for the 96 GTS shows only a cat converter in the side sills and a dual inlet/outlet muffler in the rear. I have seen photos of a stock 98 system that had a cat with tapered ends connected to a round can type muffler/resonator connected to the tailpipes and rear muffler. Which...
Where can I get copies of the TSBs that apply to my 96 GTS? I got a list off the recently noted web sites but it only lists the date, title, and summary. I'm my own tech so I want the details on doing the fixes. Never know when you might need the info.
