    OS Giken Differential in Viper

Thanks for all the information. Now that some time has passed, is there any additional input that owners of the Giken and or Quaife have at this time - especially those who have experience with both? I am looking at replacing the the posi unit in my track only (road course), Hoosiers/slicks, 645...

$$$ Control Arm Bushing Replacement $$$

Sean, as an upgrade from stock, how do these new poly busings compare to the delrin ones that have been around for a number of years? Wow, for $2100 you could almost do monoballs, not that you would necessarily want to run those on a street car.

    '96 GTS Sway Bar Rates?

Thanks Tom, that is a old, but great book. I saw that on page 150 but also thought the Viper bars were hollow. Maybe that should be my next question. Does anyone know if they are hollow or solid. (I'm too lazy to check the density). I could probably just do the math OD, length, weight.......

    Slicks vs DOT race tires

Hi Slammed, Lots of great advice from a bunch of guys with tons of experience. I definitely second the fact that with slicks you are going to need track pads and without any front cooling, you will go through them quickly. And they are expensive. Also the performance brake fluid is a must for...

    need some motor rebuild advice

Treesnake, I had read all the stuff on the boards about Arrow being good and when I needed a shortblock done I went to Arrow. They selected the pistons and recommended their own rods (modified 340 hi-po rods). They polished and balanced everything and then assembled the entire motor (with my...

    Help - I need a Gen 2 block

Help please, I broke a rod and need a Gen 2 block to get my engine back together again. If not a bare block, I would be interested in a Gen 2 short block. Prefer that to be from the forged piston years. Thank you very much! Best regards, Mike Please contact me at [email protected]

    HD U-joints?

My U-joint between the drive shaft and the diff doesn't seem to like the new motor. I spit it out last Friday at Buttonwillow. Does anyone make a heavy duty one for a '96 GTS? Also, do you know what the part number / type is? Thanks for your help. Best regards,

Hey DC, the GTS just got its butt kicked at the "RING".

Re: Hey DC, the GTS just got its butt kicked at the The Viper in question was tested by Auto Sport Magazine with the magazine's chief editor as the driver. The test was run on a Eurospec Viper GTS on 10-1-97. From the official Nurburgring website: Horst von Saurma (D) Chrysler Viper GTS, 411...

    Clunking in rear end

You might want to check the bolts that mount the diff housing to the frame. These came loose on my car and were the root cause of some clunking. Good luck.

How Much Trouble To Put Gen3 Front Calipers On A Gen2?

I believe the best way to do this is buy the Comp Coupe spindles, calipers, and rotors (front and rear). They are actually pretty cheap. I believe they bolt right up, you just need to flip the front tie rod upside down. I don't think there is a whole lot more to it. A few guys out here in the...

Skip Barber 3 Day Racing School

The three day school is great. Highly recommended. I believe if you sign up at a pro-type event you get something like $500 off the price. I signed up at the Monterey Historic Races a few years back and the deal was $500 off or a free helmet. Have fun. Regards,

Thinking of buying a comp coupe

Mike, Do you need another son? :p Please stop putting up all these numbers, I've been happily pretending it was much less expensive than that! Personal opinion: If you/your son are planning on racing the car, I would get a dedicated race car. Much safer and better at what it is designed for...

Opinions on this new Viper VARARAM intake?

vipah, Sorry for the rant. I totally agree test data is better than theory. It is just in this case the test data was done without the appropriate equipment/test conditions to measure the difference the theory predicts. Therefore, I believe we still need to go off of theory. So, in theory...

Opinions on this new Viper VARARAM intake?

Here we go again. We are talking about tenths of a PSI at reasonable track speeds. The original "testing" that vipah, joe117, et al like to refer to was done by RussM who "Hooked up a PSI/vacum guage to the airbox". No way is this ever going to show the differnce we are talking about on that...
