I know I shouldnt have laughed out loud whilst reading that but Charles Darwin may of had a point!
Thanks I am hoping the plate has stuck and i can free it as mentioned. I was thinking of rolling it out of the garage and putting it in gear whilst I dip the clutch to the floor and getting some...
Hi all I have just gone to my Viper and tried to move it out of the garage and found that I can not select any gears when the engine is running! When the engine is off I can select all gears. It was fine before it was stood up which was maybe for 6-8 months on alxe stands.
I have tried...
Cheers Steve, well I removed the panel above the tank and it all looks and smells ok.
Its has no fuel hoses actually coming out the top just 2 breathers one small and one large and one electrical plug. There is another blocked off/plugged larger hole where the original pump must have been...
I will take a look at that over the weekend Jeff as I think it may well be there. If no electric fuel pumps have been switched on and its smelling as soon as I put fuel in it I guess it must be tank related as if fed via pump in tank then nothing would have come down the fuel lines. I have...
Thanks for the help. Are you referring to the seal at the top of the tank for the sender Jeff?
I am also a little confused as not only does it smell it seems to lose a gallon or so every week or two when sitting in the garage (though I may be imagining this much but the level drops)
Am I...
Hi All,
I am hoping someone here can help guide me...
I bought a Roe GTS last year and have always noticed the fuel seems to be evaporating and smelling the garage out. I have had the car parked up for the winter with no fuel in it and therefore no smell (as it just seems to disappear, parked...
Thanks CS. I will probacly do my self as it looks to have good access. Did you need a ramp to access anything or can you do it all while sitting in a normal garage? Any special tools needed?
Cheers
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what sort of time it takes to do the head gaskets on a Viper GTS gen 2 1997/8?
Is there a book time for the job? Is it a nightmare? Any bits to worry about as I am thinking of doing it myself. Also it does have a Roe supercharger on it.
I think is my head gasket gone...
Hi All,
I am after an on-line downloadable version of a viper gen 2 service book. Anyone know where I can get to one?
Cheers
Paul
ebay one is only for 2003- on cars (need to look at replacement of headgasket info)
Thanks guys, I will need to get hold of a service manual and look at what gaskets I will need. I have Bellanger headers do they need a special gasket or will any viper exhaust gasket fit? Then rocker cover gaskets ARP head bolts or studs ?? Any other bits I will need? Also
does anyone know where...
Hi All,
I think it must be my head gasket as I have fixed up a 2ltre bottle to the header in engine bay and boy is there lots of air coming out! I have pumped the top hose until all bubbles gone, thermostat now opens water rises from bottle and then floods out followed by loads of bubbles. It...
Thanks again Mopar and AZ also Sybil. Heater matrix has been taken out and connected straight through heat valve under hood.
Right I have gone out there and started it again. Temp sat low for 5 mins and then climbed up and up to red in a quickish linear manner. I Shut down just before it reached...
I pukes quite quickly from a freshly topped up pressure tank, but stops and is not a constant it does it then stops and then might do it again a minute later. When I let cool for a few minutes and open with a rag it pukes out quite a lot. Once cooled has around 3/4 to a half bottle of water left...
I have been out and filled the radiator up via thermostat end of top hose. Some water was coming out the small top red hose that goes to the pressure bottle and a trickle from the thermostat housing, the top hose did not leak out water when i pulled it off and seemed to take a litre or two to...
Thanks guys, I will attempt to do this today (bleed via thermostat) and disconnect hose from thermostat and fill with water. It is a new thermostat replaced due to temprature fluctuations and once bumper removed the fender bottle had a hole in bottom so had been sucking in air. I had not noticed...
To answer your question John it happens while driving and parked. Cruising along steady 50mph it can rise and fall straight back down or stay hot for some time before tumbling down in seconds.
Grateful for your input guys. I have had the cap on whilst trying to bleed. My front bumper is off so I could repair front bottle so I can watch carefully. It has gone down in level a bit (1") this morning so must be pulling back some fluid. the odd thing is that once i fill the pressure tank up...
