Hello all, looking to draw on some your experience. (I searched the forum and think i found my answer but want to make sure).

recently purchased the car and have noticed that when hard accelerating, it is sometimes hard ot hit 3rd gear (reg acceleration not an issue) and when the car gets up around 4000 - 5000 rpms, the shifter shakes pretty hard and the entire car seems to vibrate.

It is an 02 with only 16000 miles on it, but i have read here that the stock motor mounts are not very good and tend to tear and rot quickly on a car that is not driven often. This car has been kept in great shape, but not "taken care of" if you know what i mean.

could the motor mounts and trans mounts be a cause of this issue. Tires and rims recently changed and balanced.

Has anyone had u-joints go bad on their Viper? Maybe it would be good to have a shop check the drive shaft for proper balance?

But would a halfshaft or even the driveshaft shake the shifter if the tranny and motor mounts are good?

Not sure...I guess it depends on how much vibration the mounts can absorb. I would think that an out-of-balance driveshaft would shake stuff up pretty well.
