18\" Kumhos

Yes, 18" Kumhos! I saw them fresh and at large at a big autosport show in the UK, there were sizes that would fit 18" Viper rims in the V700 series / road autocross type tire. I think the height of the tire may have differed by 5 ...so that may alter ride height and gearing very slightly, but at least they do now exist! Happy new year 18"ers!

Re: 18

What would be the difference in handling characteristics of these new kuhmos as opposed to BFG G-force drag radials in hook up and road cruisin...
Also which would be considered a stickier tire?
Thanks

Re: 18

Adam, this is just a hunch, but I think the BFG's would be a little better in a straight line, and the Kumho's would be significantly better through the turns.

Re: 18

I called Tire Rack on the 18" Kumho's because I was thinking of getting some wheels. Tire rack says they only shortly will have the REARS. The fronts are not scheduled to be made anytime soon. At least that 's the information I got... So I went ahead and ordered my 2nd pair of 17" Kumho's..

Nadine, the 18" V700's only come in a 285 width. Besides they are only a W rated tire (168 MPH) is too slow for you!

Yeah, I heard they won't be available for the rears or the fronts, one or the other. .. :(

Good news, but bad news also

Re: 18

I believe that those are for Europe only at this time. I went to the European Kumho site a few weeks ago and saw that they had a 335 18 Ecsta listed, but wasn't available yet.

Has anyone tried to stretch the new 315 18" 710 Kumho on a 18x13" rim yet?

I was hoping for something a little bigger, the 335's in 17" form are kind of small. Barely fit on to the rim, looks more like a 325 than a 335.
