19\" Wheels for 1 mile drag race

The BobG flame car that is competing in the one mile drag in Nebraska got its new sneakers installed today. (This is the 725R dry sump car from west coast viper) The race requires that 'normal' street tires are used. The wheels are the new 19" Purner's. Purner out-did himself this time. Absolutley the most beautiful wheel I have seen for the Viper yet. There are more pics on speedstuff.com but here is a good pic.

What's up with those wheel studs? Why doesn't the car have lug nuts on it, and are the wheels made so that the lugs stick that far out from the wheel, or is that car using unusually long studs?

Those studs are for being track legal at certain events. NHRA ok.
