1994 air conditioner question

I am going to vacuum my air conditioner system and recharge does anybody know if I have to add oil when I do? I have not opened the system or changed any parts.

When I have mine done professionally (I've done it a few times now, chasing an elusive leak somewhere in the system), we do replace the oil.
